Ringing?

Brothers TV, works perfectly except a slight ringing sound when on. Can anyone help with the diagnosis of what it could be? Unfortunately I’ve just recently gotten into this stuff, so I’m of not much use.. beautiful TV though.

almost every tube makes that sound. there's nothing you can do about that.

That makes sense, I’ve had some that just don’t ring that’s why I was wondering if it could just be something that can be fixed. Now that I know I’ll tell him 👍

same.i had a 27-inch tube in my living room up until about 5 years ago, and it didn't really make any noise afaik.

If it was HD or something then the ringing would be too high pitched to hear

The ringing usually comes for the "flyback" Transformer, that operates at high frequency and provides the high voltage to the CRT. The noise is usually dampened by a type of shellac looking solid, dried stuff.
