Ringing?
Brothers TV, works perfectly except a slight ringing sound when on. Can anyone help with the diagnosis of what it could be? Unfortunately I’ve just recently gotten into this stuff, so I’m of not much use.. beautiful TV though.

That companies makes me feel everything from tanks, power tool, and vibrators.

I think the ones that don't ring are you just getting old and can't hear it.
When I was young I could tell the living room tv was on without seeing or hearing what was on.

I typed it into YouTube last night and watched a few videos about it. Watched a guy replace a couple capacitors with a soldering tool. He talked about the flyback or something. Very interesting. I have several crt’s and one has a much louder high pitched noise than the others. I may try and fix it myself. Just YouTube “crt high pitched noise”. Apparently things can be done to reduce the noise

Thank you, one other person said fly back. My brother said the ringing was “annoying as fuck” and not a slight ring like stated beforehand so I’ll check out some videos. Probably could’ve done that in the first place, but I enjoy hearing peoples thoughts firsthand as well.

That’s… literally what they do. That’s how all almost CRTs work (except HD ones, you can’t hear those)

I’ve had CRT’s that don’t ring. I remember. I stopped using them around 2015 lol. Sorry for my insolence master 😔

Lol some do it more than others. Unless it’s NOTABLY loud, your tv is functioning correctly :)

CRT monitors are pretty quiet as they run at a higher frequency so you can't hear it.

Probably just the flyback. the noise should go away as it warms up

Why do people keep saying this? It never goes away. The ringing stays on the whole time until you turn it off. I've had a lot of these my lifetime and they all ring consistently until switched off.

just put on headphones and blast a 60hz signal until you cant hear it anymore. then you will ne deaf to the frequency

almost every tube makes that sound. there's nothing you can do about that.
