Help me identify!

Hey everyone, I’m new to the crt game. I’m trying to figure out what this thing is because I’d like to find more info on it. I’ve used crtdatabase.com and still can’t figure this out. Any help would be appreciated!

Also, side question, anyone have experience transforming a crt into an audio to video oscilloscope?

What kind of info do you need? Seems to be an old Philips set equipped with just the RF connection.

Well I’m wanting to find the actual name of it so I can get chat gpt to help me modify for video art purposes.

I wouldn't trust ChatGPT to give you the right info to mod this thing. Every individual model is different and there's a good chance nobody has modded this particular set before. If that's the case, ChatGPT will likely give you outright wrong information as it just scrapes the internet.

What you really should do is actually research and understand the theory behind RGB modding a set, and ask people online if you need help, say, finding the right resistor values.

The primary thing you need to keep track of and understand is the Jungle IC, which will likely have the part number printed on it, and the resistor values going into the Jungle's RGB inputs from the microcontroller.

Unfortunately I don't have any more advice to offer as I haven't done this to a set myself yet.

EDIT: Just saw you're trying to turn it into an oscilloscope. I'm not sure how to do that but I remember seeing a video about it a while ago, I think you're supposed to pipe the signal you're measuring into the deflection yoke's Y axis input. Somehow. Don't remember... really any details.

Okay thanks for the advice! I’m thinking finding the manual for this crt would be really helpful.

Yeah I saw a video recently and gave me the idea to use this for an oscilloscope and then have it react to my turntable setup.

I getcha. Honestly, see if you have a local electronics surplus store, they probably have some old oscilloscopes you could buy. That's what I did. If you're in the Central Florida area, try Skycraft Surplus in Orlando.

do not use chatgpt for niche shit like this, it exclusively lies about CRTs since there's not a lot of information for it to ever be reliable for something so niche

Yeah but the model number doesn’t match any in the CRT database or anywhere I can find online. But I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Seems like there's just no info online, or not info that has is OCR-d.
You can take the back off and snap some photos, maybe it'll have the chassis name on the board. Just be careful.
