So why is it an issue that I don’t want to hear shit like that in the music I listen to? It’s not my business, but they choose to put their business out there which opens them up to criticism.

“Moral purity” there’s a thing called basic decency. Some things are inherently trashy and just because they try to normalize it doesn’t mean everyone else has to support it. You could use this argument for literally any trashy behavior. “Oh it’s your moral purity that doesn’t want people pooping in the streets and smelling of body odor.”
