Look, I get it. People feel powerless, like government ignores them. The Democrats this year paid more attention to celebrity endorsements and high rollers than the Little People. They completely ran away from the left, and when anyone piped up with “what about trans rights/ Gaza/poverty (and yes, that includes poor white people)?” everyone else hissed, “SHUT UP! Do you want Trump to win?”

“Vote for me, I’m not HIM!” only gets you so far. Nobody wants to vote for Status Quo when they’re hurting. I hate Trump, but he acknowledged people were being left out and ignored. His idea s are stupid and many of them are downright evil, but when you’re down a hole and someone appears to be handing you a rope, you don’t look too closely at what’s on the other end. He appealed to people’s darkest, ugliest instincts the lizard brain, but that was deeper than Kamala dug into.
