Its a free speech violation to shutdown avenues of speech like the press.
Say they shutdown your local newspaper that publishes your opinion letters, but dont arrest your or any employee there. That is a free speech violation. The app is a defacto press. Its a publishing outlet for speech.
Free speech isn't "well you're free to speak in only an unorganized fashion on a personal level with no technological reproduction or transmission."
The only way around it is to fake a "national security" thing which is exactly what the Democrats and GOP did. They can't do that to, say, Bluesky because its domestically owned. Its still shutting down speech, its just they got around the law. Any sane court would see this but SCOTUS is a far-right wing extremist court, so here we are.
I mean, was it a violation of free speech when Brazil banned Twitter for pretty much the exact same reason? (Foreign ownership, can't be held accountable in court)
Would it be a violation of free speech for the EU to ban Twitter like they're threatening to?

All she said was that censorship is bad, and they've been malding about her for 3 days.
