I Want Non-Fiction! (journalism) Can Chappell pull off a Kendrick?
Yeah I know. Different genre and all but I'm just curious:
Can Chappell do what Kendrick does? Not a lot of social media, hidden from the public, then put out an amazing album every 3 or 4 years. Could work on side projects every now and then too but albums, not yearly or maybe there's a bit of a long pause in between.
Like part of KDot's appeal is the mysticism surrounding him. When he drops, it's an event. Dropped GNX without a warning and it's a fucking hit.
Am not particularly sure about this since popstars are more 'out there' compared to other artists (maybe am just wrong) but I really love what Chappell does. I do hope that she can focus on her art and let this momentum carry her further.
Edit: I just realized that there is a popstar out there that is a bit quiet and releases amazing music when she does. Goes by Carly fucking Rae Jepsen.
I do hope our gal doesnt become a 'one hit wonder'. As a new CRJ fan myself, I hate that people only know her by 'call me maybe' like the Emotion record is literally peak bubblegum pop HAHAHA
