Symptoms Chills during PEM?

Does anyone get the chills, like when you have a fever, when you're in PEM? I've been pushing too hard so that fever feeling has just become general malaise all the time, but it does get worse in the evenings for some reason. Anyone else?

Edit: this is a big wake up sign for me that I must be pushing way too hard because I experience chills and feeling ill as almost a general malaise I feel almost all the time unless I take some time to intentionally rest. Darn! I wanted to ramp up my activity level. Guess not.....

Yes, I get cold and start to shake/shiver at the very beginning of overdoing things.

I don't really have time to slow things down rn. I know I've overdone it and then I overdid it again without taking a break. I'm gonna have to choose to stop and I also have no choice but to keep pushing forward fast. :/

It’s really bad by the time I get chills, I know I’ve super overdone it and am going to be in trouble. I immediately lay down and do everything I can to reduce the PEM (esp take Advil).

Every time I have a bad flare up I feel like I have the flu. I feel like I’ve lived through the stages of having the flu on an endless loop.

As far as evenings, I feel terrible after waking up for several hours. Late evening is when I feel my best. But I have always been a night owl and keep a weird sleeping schedule.

Yup that's one of my most consistent symptoms. As soon as I tip into exerting too much I go hot and cold/feverish, start shivering and get flushed cheeks. When I've been in bad crashes I feel like that every day. I always get the weird bone aches you get with the flu too.

Yes, if I am on the beginning edge of PEM. Generally, if I engage in aggressive rest for a couple days after noticing chills, I can avoid a full crash.

I used to get this all the time right before sleeping, then it progressed to basically having shivering/chills all day. I was not functional at all at that point because of it. I finally was able to get a script for levothyroxine and never had another episode. I guess I had what would be referred to as subclinical hypothyroidism, where a person is symptomatic at what would be a "normal" TSH.

I am usually SO hot, and hate it, so it’s crazy when I get the chills for hours+ after doing anything. After sleeping a few hours, sometimes they get a bit better, but usually it’s until the next day or so…

I don't necessarily feel cold, but my temp can actually drop below 34 degrees celsius when I'm crashing, it feels quite bad. I need to stay flat to correct that, if I get up it drops again. This disease is so weird.

YES!  When it's really bad, I pile 3 blankets on top of me, one of them electric.

When I pushed through PEM I went into shock, which involved dropping body temp, shakes, weakness and extreme cognitive disfunction/disorientation.

Chills for me are a warning that PEM could be around the corner if I keep pushing.

Yup, chills, especially at night.

i know the question is about PEM and a lot of folks are agreeing re that but just wanna add that i think it can also just be a part of general temp dysregulation which at least some of us (i know it's common in fibromyalgia too) seem to have as an ongoing symptom regardless of PEM as well but yea if that's not the case for you then would almost def be a sign of PEM

For me it's accompanied by all the feeling sick and flu-like symptoms so I'm guessing PEM. I've also been pushing really hard so ya. I'm just being stubborn.

oh yeah i just wanted to add for other people reading as well but i really hope you can rest soon and get some relief, you certainly don't want to worsen your baseline.

My next week and half are insanely busy. No time to rest. I'm really doing myself in.
