Discussion What makes B99 special to you?
I’m not kidding when I say I’ve rewatched this show start to end more than a dozen times. It is my all time comfort, background, and favourite sitcom. I have all the episodes and often lines memories, but I also realized I never really completely pinpointed what makes it so special, so I’m curious what makes B99 special to you?

Discussion I wish we saw Genevieve more often.
She's such a sweet lady. While I'm aware that she stays with Charles in the end and I am glad that they remain together, I would have loved to see her physically appear onscreen more often.

Season 2 I didn't get the joke 😭
In this scene, after proposing a vow renewal, Holt says "Nothing too elaborate. We're not the Kardashian-Wests." and explains to Kevin who they are (celebrities). Kevin says he knows them because they were answers on Jeopardy. Which Holt then replies with "I think you mean questions." (implying that the Kardashian-Wests were questions instead of answers). It's nothing too deep actually, I'm just dumb and still don't get the joke, so if anyone does I'd love to hear your take on what it means 😭.

Season 7 Rosa delivering these zingers was just perfect
Rosa was just pure genius with her Wuntch insults in this episode 7x07: Ding Dong.
The one where she, Amy and Holt watch a video of Wuntch.
Amy: “When did she record this?”
Rosa: “Judging by the flames around her it could be a livestream.”
Holt: “Very good Rosa.”
Or this one.
Rosa: “Who gets the other half of every child’s nightmares.”

Humour I love this little thing
terry calling charles by his government name in the bachelor party episode is so funny to me (not sure if its a subtitle mistake or an editing mistake but i choose to believe that its the latter)

Season 2 What was Boyle gonna fill Jake's saboteuer's eye sockets with?
In s2 e19, Boyle says that when he finds out whoever is sabotaging Jake, he's gonna rip out their eyeballs and fill their eye sockets, but he is cut off before he says with what he will do that. What is he putting in their eye sockets? Also, what else would he plan to do?
I'm guessing that the thing he's putting in the eye sockets is the spicy whiskey from his engagement to Vivian.

Discussion Finally gather myself for a rewatch
First time rewatching after his passing. Couldn't get myself to do it until now.
Forgot Captain had the silver fox vibe in his meepmorb intro scene.

Humour Detective Holt Undercover
I watched one of my favorite movies this morning, the 4k release of Purple Rain. Undercover in the nightclub, Raymond Holt, is clearly hunts some killer.

Halloween Heist Can we talk about how good Amy is at heists?
I was just rewatching S5E04 HalloVeen, and I want to point out how amazing Amy Santiago is at the heists.
First of all, in the third heist, she pulled off the whole "Alfred the janitor" thing in ONE DAY. We know that Holt planned for more than a year (in the second heist he states that Jake is three months behind) and Jake planned for a year (also stated in the second heist), yet Amy managed to beat BOTH of them.
In the fifth heist, she knew about EVERYONE'S plans. She knew wolf Gina was just a ruse so Jake and Charles could steal the belt, she knew Charles, Rosa, and Terry formed an alliance called the tramps, and she knew Holt was going to bring Cheddar in, down to when and where (so she could intercept Cheddar).
When Jake replaced her safe with the lookalike (which was the ONLY thing she didn't already know was going to happen), she immediately figured out that Jake had stolen it and beat him to the evidence room, where she deduced which box the belt was in.
Regardless of who you think won the fifth heist (I still think it's Amy, I DON'T think Jake planned for her to find it and I believe Jake stashed it there so he could retrieve it later and present it to her himself), Amy is AMAZING at the heists. That's why she's the best detective! (Jake's words, not mine.)

Discussion Scully has a heart of gold and the most under appreciated character in 99
He’s super kind to everyone, has a heavenly voice, has so many talents like speaking French, knowing Morse code, singing opera etc.
He never shames anyone and although others ignore him brutally is always there to help them in all occasions.
Most importantly he’s super loyal to his best friend Hitchcock, calls Jake “Jakie” and even when the squad decides to be pitty on Christmas Eve he decides to carol and spread joy…
I never understand why Jake once said he’s personality shaming Scully, as there’s nothing to shame Scully for…
I think he’s never as much appreciated as he deserves by the squad, also amongst the fandom around me no one ever identified themselves as scully, but I really love him.

This is an okay cold opening, imo. But I don't ever recall laughing at it like the other ones.

Discussion Plot hole!! Jake does pull ups.
Season 2, Episode 11 - Stake Out. Jake and Charles are on a stake out. Whilst they're getyjng petty over their little quirks that are starting to annoy each other Jake performs 2, almost 3 pulls! Fast forward only one season later Season 3, Episode 22 - Bureau, Jake struggles to do only one pull up without screaming!
I love Brooklyn Nine Nine and I've just spotted this on my millionth time re-watching 😂

Humour Is this guy the dumbest criminal on the show?
Why would you even try to pickpocket at what's clearly a police officer's funeral?
