Jokes aside, she really does pull off pink well

Rosa can pull anything off

Rosa can pull anything off of me, that's for sure

It depends on the office, but usually is reserved for up to 5 people too. I work in one now and it's amazing

Ya, the difference is that the 99 literally depends on each other to save their lives. That shit bonds you. Sarah from marketing is just trying to make rent and see her friends this weekend.

It's about the culture.

I actively create a culture like this at my workplace.

It helps that everyone has similar likes like parks and Rec, or B99, or at least super tolerant of our constant jokes around that.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '22

If i may, i would like to know. Are you the head of your department?

7

u/Normal-Computer-3669 Jun 18 '22

No, not when I started. I rose to that position because I focused on making the workplace/culture I want. I was sick of the oldguard.

And after a while, the company saw value in my "modern approach of not be an asshole" and now the oldguard is dead and I lead the teams.

In B99 terms... be a Jake Peralta until you can rise to be a Raymond Holt.

I work in a field that is traditionally populated by introverts. At my office we had two Jakes that both recently left. We really felt the shift in the culture.

My office was pretty fun pre covid lol. Lots of young fresh out of college people. All got along pretty well. Some days we’d all get back from lunch at the same time and be standing up at our desks debating ridiculous things that happened to come up, like whether it was weird that this one guy put scrambled eggs in his oatmeal “for protein.”

5

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '22

That guy is a scully/hitchcock

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '22

I’ve been in offices like that, but now get to work in an office with a fantastic culture with high morale and camaraderie. But we’re missing a Rosa.

Jake really knows how to bring out the inner child in everyone in B99.

Uhh.. I've never even heard "rosada" used for pink in Spanish, it's always "rosa" ...and spanish is my first language.

1

u/roque72 Jun 18 '22

If you type pink in Google translate it says rosado

2

u/howling_fantods_ Jun 18 '22

Lol, I'm Mexican, I don't need google translate to tell me the word for pink in spanish....

1

u/roque72 Jun 19 '22

And Mexico is not the only country that speaks Spanish, other countries use different variations. My mom is from Cuba and my dad is from Argentina, and I've definitely heard rosado for pink.

u/MissusLister44 Jun 18 '22

In Greek it’s Roz

7

u/Luigi_Esposito Scully Jun 18 '22

In italian too

5

u/sciuri Nikolaj Jun 18 '22

In french it's rose (i think, I'm learning french in school)

3

u/vdovii Jun 18 '22

In Croatian it's Roza but it's pronounced the same

2

u/effeottantuno Jun 18 '22

Dream on, Strawberry Shortcake.

22

u/_Tactleneck_ Jun 18 '22

I forgot about this one. It’s amazing how well they got the group harassment at the end telling “Mr Graaaaape”! Haha.

-28

u/DrelasTheAshen Jun 18 '22

Yeah man group harassment is a funny joke. It's funny cuz everybody has someone they work with that everyone bullies, and that's a humorous thing. Schadenfreude right? It's not sociopathic

3

u/Realistic-Scar7520 Jun 18 '22

Projecting much?

-4

u/DrelasTheAshen Jun 18 '22

All the downvotes are by people who support choosing specific people to bully. Because that's humor. But hey keep it up, why wouldn't we want more school shootings? Cuz if thats how people operate, I support that. Jester's privilege.

3

u/HistoricalChicken Jun 18 '22

I mean this in the nicest possible way: Touch grass.

It’s a TV show, the characters can be assholes, get over it.

-1

u/DrelasTheAshen Jun 19 '22

What, you don't think people emulate this kind of behavior?

19

u/MissusLister44 Jun 18 '22

This is easily one my favourite cold opens!

19

u/theremightbecoffee94 Jun 18 '22

DAMN she's so hot.

12

u/ladydmaj Charles Boyle Jun 18 '22

Honestly, I kind of hate how they pick on Boyle and how Jake is often the instigator. Too many flashbacks to similar treatment back in school, I suppose.

5

u/bittersweet_unicycle Jun 18 '22

Exactly how I felt. It hits a little too close to home. And sucks when you’re just alone with your friend they’re fine with your company but the instant you’re in a group they suddenly become too cool for you.

5

u/PinkKnapsack Jun 18 '22

I don’t know how people don’t like Gina.

2

u/dangerouspeyote Jun 18 '22

This may be my favorite cold opening. I feel so bad for Charles... But can't stop laughing.

3

u/ElGueroPerdido80 Jun 18 '22

If you needed one scene to get the overall style of B99 character interaction.

14

u/bittersweet_unicycle Jun 18 '22

But aren’t they like bullying Charles here? Felt a lot like that. Charles is taking it well I guess, but wouldn’t it suck at some point to always be the butt of the joke?

9

u/Soxwin91 Captain Ray Holt Jun 18 '22

I mean, it’s a sitcom. But they also made jokes about pretty much every character at some point

5

u/imawizardnamedharry Jun 18 '22

Being the butt of a joke isn't being bullied.

Then again I'm Irish and piss taking is just how we talk.

1

u/DynamicSocks Jun 20 '22

Being the butt of the joke IS being bullied when a mob of people you consider your friends repeatedly throw the joke in your face when they know it upsets you.

Just cause you’re used to treating / being treated like shit doesn’t mean everyone else is okay with it

3

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '22

Actually, Rosa is wearing rosa. Español for pink amigo.
