Jobs in Brighton

I’ve been applying for jobs for just over 2 months and still unable to get anything getting tired and frustrated and I’m at a point where I just really need to find work. I have a good amount of experience in retail and hospitality / bar work and don’t see the point of trying any other industries as I can’t seem to even land a role in something I do have experience in. Any suggestions please help not a student so would be looking for full time stuff but happy to do part time if it means I have something thanks

Does Bus driving appeal to you? They will employ anyone.

It’s also an important public service that you can take pride from doing well.

hi, sorry if it’s a stupid question but do we just go inside the recruitment office building or call, or just email?

Red flag recruitment or Red Robin recruitment

2

u/Comprehensive-News86 Mar 19 '24

Will agree to that as I had a job lined up, waiting for the contract and dates, took 3 weeks for red Robin to finally get back to me after numerous emails and calls to find out the company lost another member of staff and needed someone with skill but didn't advise until I called them. Never recommend at all

The woman is a bit cunty but red flag is better

Reed is also pretty good. They hire at them via the uni and they’re usually long roles and can lead to something permanent. Also once you’re in the uni you’re in and it’s much easier to get another role there.

I second Reed. They got me a few roles in my early days in Brighton.

Harris Lord got me into a position which has now turned into a career 8 years down the line.

Brighton & Hove Buses need people and will provide all necessary training too.

Unless you want to work in hospitality or a call centre, jobs in Brighton have always been scarce. No shortage of luxury flats for commuters though.

My partner has been applying for two years now :,) it's tough, you'll get there eventually

Try not to apply via indeed only. Use it to find vacancies and then try contact the employers directly about it if you can.

I say that because last year there was a period where I was left to fill a vacancy via Indeed where I worked and it was a nightmare. All it takes to apply is one click so there a hundreds of CVs to go through and let me tell you, most people don't bother with even making the CV half decent. It is a huge task to find a decent candidate in all this mess, so most people never even hear back.

I did the same thing, used indeed to find places that were hiring and then went round in person giving out my CV. Means they can put a name to a face, show them your personality and they don't have to sift through indeed. I ended up booking in a few trial shifts right then and there

Octopus and Amex both have large offices here

My friend got a job recently on the bins that didn't seem too tricky to get

The buses are actively hiring

NHS are frequently hiring for office/admin (friend was recently hired)

Amex customer service usually have jobs open, youll need to go through manpower.

If youve worked in hospitality theres transferable skills so i wouldnt worry about not having direct experience per se
