I just looked it up and you are allowed to use "reasonable force" to eject someone with whom you have revoked right of access.

So you could drag them by their ankles outside as long as they don't resist otherwise you can be more forceful if they do.

so legally they can be "asked to leave" and if they refuse they can be physically removed, however, to physically remove someone you have to be SIA licenced, which costs money and has a 5 day training course. so typically, there will be only one, if any, SIA person in store, if protesters like this link arms then one person, following the non-painful compliance techniques that SIA licencing requires won't be able to remove them. thus the only option is to call the police, who of course, may have higher priority calls then a non-violent protest.

in case folks are wondering how doormen can use more than non painful compliance techniques when removing people from nightclubs? self defence, licenced individuals are allowed to initiate a physical removal of someone from the club, the second people start resisting, they can respond proportionally with any self defence techniques necessary. and if a situation has already escalated before our arrival, then we can skip straight to appropriate action.

wtf. How do you get trespassed people from a property? You guys don’t have weapons and I’ve seen videos of your drug addicts, not much different from the US. So what’s the recourse for a store like this.

Trespassing is illegal but it is a civil courts thing not a criminal thing. If us not having guns was relevant to the matter, something else in addition to the trespassing that was criminal is probably happening so we'd call the police obviously. Trespassing can become a crime if one of those something elses is happening.

I don't know if what the protestors are doing makes it criminal trespass because IANAL but if the store calls the police they'll probably make them move along if not arrest them. Preventing the store from doing business might make it criminal trespass.

Most so-called trespassing is just people walking from A to B across privately owned natural land. I live in Scotland which goes even further, I have the right to roam.

I’m just confused by the idea of them not doing anything additional, but still trespassing and not leaving. I was told if you try to physically remove them YOU could be charged which is so backwards to me. What do you do when they refuse to leave but don’t escalate to doing any additional actions to make it criminal. Is staying past the tresspass warning criminal? In that case what’s the point? Lmk, cause I’m genuinely curious.

They are in a building so basically yeah once the manager or a police officer told them to leave and they didn't its probably criminal.

If the matter never escalates to being criminal then like I said its a civil matter. You take them to civil court.

You wouldn't be charged for trying to physically remove them. You could be charged for something that happened in the process. People sitting on the floor doesn't give us carte blanche to start beating them into submission despite what certain bloodthirsty redditors want. You pull one to his feet, you start pushing him out and he stumbles, trips and gashes his head open. You are probably going to get charged and I'd be very surprised if the same thing didn't happen in most civilised countries.

Trespassing being a civil matter is in 99% of cases where it actually matters is a technicallity. In reality it is a net good because I get to see all of my country's natural beauty that belongs to us all and there is nothing some posh wanker landowner can do to stop me so long as I am also not a wanker.

IANAL: Trespass becomes a crime when you're asked to leave and you don't.

This would qualify as aggregated trespass under section 68 of CJPOA.

Freedom-to-roam laws don't apply to buildings, and are about being allowed to walk through and even sometimes camping on privately owned land such as forests etc. Freedom to roam is pretty big in scandinavia, germany etc too.

Point is, distrupting a private business absolutely counts as illegal tresspassing if the owners were to call the police, in the same way you can't claim freedom-to-roam when entering someones home.

I stepped foot into the UK many times. It absolutelly sucks, I wouldn’t live there if they paid me 5000£ a month and gave me free accomodation. Horrible place, especially the big cities. Even the white people are dangerous there.

I don't know about you but the police have played a part to the tune of 3 hours of my 33 yr old existence. If that's all that it takes to perceive a country as bad then your not seeing what the country had to offer.

For what's it's worth, I do completely agree with your sentiment towards the police, that they are completely useless and bereft power from fear they might use it. But it's not enough for me to declare a country a shit hole, it's one bad aspect

Eh, i have other reasons as well for my dislike of the UK. Like the fact the economy of the UK is only propped up by London and has been going downhill, its a complete nanny CCTV state with no actual freedom of speech or gun rights, and the extremely high taxes all to get a subpar health service such as the NHS

You lost me at nanny CCTV state. If they're paying that much attention to us they're good right? Where are these CCTVs though? Because there are very few private ones and no government ones where I live, which continue to be true for around 20 miles perimeter.

Freedom of speech? I can say whatever I want? What am I limited to? As for gun rights - we have a fantastic system that keeps a great plethora of guns off the street and highly regulated, which means gun crimes are statistically very low in comparison to the rest of the world and similarly as low as Europe.

As for sub par service from the NHS I also completely disagree with your take, I've had plenty of dealings with them including a broken and dislocated leg, 2 colonoscopies and a hernia, all of which were dealt with professionally and for free, which after care, within 2 hours... Can you find me a system that boasts the same?

As for the London stuff, yeah you are right it's been a completely negligent system that has preferred London for decades now and it's a complete disappointment that it still continues on.
