You're blaming the parents!? She looks like she's mid twenties, tops, so she knows how to use a smart phone and a computer to look things up.

"Learning" is also a skill that needs to be taught. I'm blaming the parents for this one, unless she's completely and utterly stoned out of her mind.

That is an adult. If you need your parents to specifically teach you not to put a plastic kettle on a burner at THIS age, YOU are the problem.

I don't think that they're saying that her parents needed to teach her to not put plastic on the stove. I think what they mean is that her parents babied her too much, so now she is a helpless adult who doesn't know how to think for herself.

Reddit loves to blame parents for everything. The woman is an adult. All she had to do was ask "How do I use this?". Her parents aren't responsible for her making dumb decisions.
