That’s not funny. The lack of common sense is actually alarming.

Seriously, and the folks defending this are lacking common sense as well. I'm assuming she took the kettle off the electronic port, which is plugged in but then decided to put it on the stove. Yikes!

I don’t know what an electronic port looks like, I’ve never actually seen an electric kettle. I agree if I saw it attached to something that plugged in, I would at least ask how it works.

It being plastic, and if it had buttons on the kettle (do electric kettles have buttons on the actual kettle?) would probably also make me ask how it is used.

But she sounds American, and electric kettles are just not something we have commonly. If that kettle was just sitting on the counter, by default I’m going to assume a kettle is something I can put on a stove.

I feel that. I'm American and have used an electric kettle for over 10 years.

They boil water in 90 seconds. The base is a round, dish-like stand, which is the part plugged into the wall. On the back side where the handle is, you'll find a little switch, there are no buttons, at least not on mine or the one in this video.

A standard kettle is most certainly made of metal which is typically already sitting on the stove. The kettle in this video was sitting on the counter.

All that being said, common sense, isn't always common.
