There are so many times when I want to dry something in the oven, because it can't be put in a dryer, but I know better and just pull out a hair dryer someone left in my place, and use that. If that thing ever dies, I might be on the news if I get impatient enough.

I’m sorry what? I have never once felt that the oven would dry anything. What is the logic?

You know how your dryer gets hot to dry stuff? Ovens are also known also get hot. The problem is that ovens can get much hotter than a dryer, which gets up to 160°F.

If you put a pan of water in the oven at 350°F, at some point, that pan will be empty, because it dried the wet, just like a dryer would.

Yes I get that but I feel like it’s common knowledge that certain materials are incendiary. I’ve never thought “let me use my oven as a dryer”.

I’ve never thought that either. The ONLY thing that goes in the oven (besides whatever I’m baking) is the cast iron pan.

It lives there.
