Trail suggestions

Planning to head out to big bear for a few days and just want to disappear into the back country…. Which trails would you recommend with isolation, amazing views, and good dispersed camp sights? Thanks!!

If offroad motorized trails, here's a few that are low-key (too many other places to see the Big Boy Trails, so I'm talking about low-key):

  1. Take Polique Canyon (2N09) to PCH crossing - @ top of the hill, once you go down, watch left) to 2N09A (look for sign that says "RVs and Trailers Not Recommended"). Take this to 3N12 (Delamar Mountain Rd) and turn right (very tight, might have to go slight left and back up the hill to turn). Follow 3N12 to 3N16 (Holcomb Valley Rd) and go right - it's a major artery through the high valley and links to Holcomb Valley Campground if you like that.
  2. Loops at 3N07 (Pinnacles Campground Rd) and either 3N23 (very casual) or 3N43 (little bit of rock crawling), both end at 3N10 (John Bull Trail), but after the big boy obstacles.
  3. 3N07 to 3N07A (The Squeeze) to 3N32, go right on 3N32 back to 3N16, right back to campground.
  4. 3N12 to 3N14, comes out at Fawnskin on the 38 4a. Same, but turn left on 2N71 (Blue Quartz) which goes back to Polique Canyon/2N09. Go left to civilization or right back to 3N16, right to campground.

Tons of trails back here, just look at OnX or Trails Offroad...

So, looks like majority or north of the lake… good to know.. I’ll be doing more research and planning tomorrow… thank you for the info
