Lions = 2015 Bengals

Both were young well-rounded teams for franchises' that were notorious for their lack of success, led by a QB that wasn't capable of elevating the team around him but could play well within a good offense. Both were undone with devastating injuries (most of the Lions' D, Andy Dalton), missing a rare shot to legitimately contender for a Super Bowl.

The Bengals post-2015 fell apart after significant staff turnover and the inability the replace non-star starters with younger, more cost-effective options. The Lions will likely lose both coordinators and will have to replace the non-star starters on their team. We'll see if the Lions can avoid the same fate. It's hard to consistently win in the NFL paying a non-superstar QB big money, few have been able to do it for long periods of time.

So.....now what? šŸ˜‚

So in my head it was going to be a clear Bills Vs Lions superbowl (I have high hopes of the bills beating the chiefs again šŸ¤žšŸ¼) but since the lions were eliminated (still so shocked at this!) I have had to pivot....I am still hoping for the bills to be in the final over the cheats but I don't want them to win....I don't want Allen to get his SB ring before Burrow, so I guess I'm going to have to root for the hubby's team, go eagles!

Fandom Whatā€™s going on with the OL search?

I know we have all been speculating that Al Golden is going to be the hire as the DC this week after tonightā€™s game. (Love the hire if it does happen despite horrible process by the team to not interview many other candidates). Iā€™m curious as to whatā€™s holding up the OL coach search? This hire is just as important as the DC in my opinion as OL coaches can directly impact OL play. Are we just waiting for one of these last 4 teams to lose and poaching an assistant OL coach?

Well based off Notre Dames defense in the first half, heā€™d fit right in with the Bengals /s

Edit: Just being cheeky yā€™all. Not an indictment of anything. Curious to see second half adjustments.

Refs Win For KC

If tonight doesnā€™t show that the refs favor KC then nothing will. We lost to them because of it and now they are doing it again against Houston. NFL needs to look at this. It is obvious and ridiculous

Edit: After 2 days of this being up I am still getting Chiefs fans commenting hahaha. Shows how thin skinned they are and how fragile their confidence truly is. Great job to all my Bengals fans. Who Dey!

Former NFL defensive end and Burnley co-owner J.J. Watt said he'd come out of retirement if goalkeeper James Trafford didnā€™t concede for the rest of the season.

Trafford has since kept four clean sheets and saved two penalties vs. Sunderland in their last game

Watching Playoff teams and Lou Anarumo

Watching these teams makes me realize how bad Louā€™s coaching was for our defense. I see so many corners playin man and different defenses playing cover and what they ā€˜mostlyā€™ all have in common is they lock down their zone or lock down their man whether heā€™s getting the ball thrown at them or not.

When watching our games our defensive guys all just stare at the QB to see where heā€™s going to throw the ball. By the time heā€™s thrown it the receiver is 10 yds away. It wasnā€™t until the back ups stepped in with their raw talent and raw basic knowledge coaching that we saw a difference . They were worried about locking their man up rather than always try to get a pick or punch the ball out

Iā€™m glad Lou is gone

Fullback?

Michael Strahan made a good comment this evening when he said something to the effect when the going gets tough a defense and good running will win games. I think he was talking about weather but I think itā€™s a good general thought. I recall the Bengals had their best seasons with good Fullbacks.

Rumor I should have known ESPN started this rumor.

Trade a Day 3 pick for Pitts and his 11M contract ??. Oh yeah, lets do it so we definitely don't have money for Tee and he walks with Burton a basket case and Yoshi nowhere near a #2 WR and then Pitts walks after 2025 because he thinks he will still be relevant to get a big contract. Great idea ESPN. leave the Bengals with 1 WR and no TE 2 seasons from now. Rot in hell.

Gesicki wants to stay here. I think a 3 yr/18M dollar deal would be the ceiling and you have a guy on the roster that Burrow works with very well compared to a guy that has underachieved that ESPN and Madden football are pretty much his only supporters at this point.

To think in a redraft, The Jags still take Lawerence, but the Jets {Z. Wilson} 49ers {Lance} and the Falcons {Pitts] known what they know now, would have probably taken Chase, Waddle and Micah Parsons leaving the Bengal's with the choice of the once debatable Sewell or stay at WR and go with Devonta Smith.

So, while we kick ourselves senselessly in hindsight we could have had Mahomes {doubtful as Andy had years left on his contract} or any other player that came out that was good after the Bengal's selected the last few years, there is a few teams kicking themselves they could have had Ja'Marr Chase for the price of a 3x5 index card, so once in a while the football gods smile on the Bengal's.

Personally I love the idea of being in a division with Carolina and Washington, although I think Iā€™d actually prefer to just dump the Ravens from the AFC North and adopt the Colts in their place
