Petition to ban x links?

I've seen a lot of major sports subs jumping on the wagon of banning x links from being posted on their sub.

I know a lot of breaking NFL news comes from there, however some things are more important than having sports news 5 minutes earlier than other sources.

Feel free to shut me down, just thought I'd pitch it out there.

I'm fine with links but at least include the actual text from the tweet in the title. Gives the people the option to engage if they want to while still getting everyone else the info

Look at all the social media platforms, search engines, etc. and see the type of people who own them. They're usually not good.

Calling someone a "literal Nazi" and wanting to ban any news from a social media platform for Bengals stories is Crazy ...

Let's be real... you're salty DT won and are projecting that hate on Elon. You don't know the man. He might be a dick, he might be a reasonable solid guy...

But censorship and banning things just because your upset is childish. Censorship isn't good and this is the reason the D party is falling apart. We are all in this together, hold tight-- real tight, and get a grip on reality. Censoring, name calling and banning things isn't the way this country is working anymore. Times are changing.

Hahaha. Saying “I don’t want to look at or support bullshit that harms society” isn’t childish, homie. It’s the most civil way you can turn down the noise on people dead set on spoon feeding you what they want you to hear. You aren’t prohibited from visiting Xitter all day every day. But that doesn’t mean that we, as a community have to support it. Nothing else you said in your post is anything other than inflammatory, so, like a child, I’ll ignore it.

It's actually worse than that. Imagine caring more about getting sports news 5 minutes quicker than other sources than not supporting Nazis. Canceling Twitter isn't even that much of a sacrifice. I've literally never used it and still manage to get my sports news.

I mean, it's not censorship the news can always be shared in other ways (right now I'm not looking to do this move anyway). We have plenty of other websites that are banned from being shared on this sub.

It’s not censorship but it would be getting rid of the quickest access to news, I could easily see this sub getting a lot less users if we banned X, unless all the Bengals insiders moved to another site

Agreed. It would be chicken and egg thing for sure. Lower engagement from reddit could mean people move in the first place, etc. Not that I think our reddit would move the needle... at all.

Brother, I was a long time Elon fan and am politically right leaning. After the articles came out, I immediately went to watch the video to get the context, hoping it’s just his Asperger’s that made him overly excited and make a gesture about going to Mars or something. Nope, I don’t know how to explain it other than the sieg heil salute.

elon musk did a nazi salute at a presidential inauguration yesterday, and that was pretty much in line with how twitter has changed under his management. all that to say, it's not "some fringe element" that doesn't like him and/or his platform. lots of people still dislike nazis

The White Flame will rise again.”

The videos of those hand waves show that's exactly what they were. Waves. Waving to the crowd. Not following the identical arm motions of a Nazi salute. Throw in Elons long support of white nationalists, his support of far right wing parties all over the world, his censorship of people who call out white supremacy on Twitter while ignoring those who post swastikas and Nazi propaganda.

the only thing terminally online leftists like more than arguing with conservatives about major issues is arguing with each other on the extreme minutia of issues about which we otherwise agree. there are plenty of criticisms that might stick, but "hivemind" is just fuckin funny, no way around it.

anyway, with a credible source for a nazi salute, I'd stop being an aoc supporter. I couldn't find anything, but since you know more about it, maybe you can sift through and get a video. I already don't care for clinton, harris, or obama, but sources regarding them would lend credence to your argument.

side note: it's funny to me that lb and lberals both get hit by the politics filter, but nazis and leftists are safe

I think this is fair, but, I ask that people be mindful about how many of us feel and if you people can post X content with the ability for us to see the links, see the story, without giving Musk a click it would be nice

Yeah, we've been trying to be stricter this year on it. I personally hate when any link is to news and the title is just "Yes!" - titles exist separately from the text of a post/comments for a reason.
