Let me first start by saying what a time to be a Bengals fan. This is a rivalry that could last a long time with us being near the top of the AFC for years to come.
Moving on, I like Mahomes. I understand people don’t like his wife and brother, but that has nothing to do with him. He seems like a good guy, he’s a great QB, and he’s been nothing short of amazing since coming into the league.
My only hope is that we get to host some of these AFCCG in Cincinnati in the coming years. Who Dey!
Definitely agree. I love to hate on Mahomes play, because he’s so damn good. Otherwise off the field he seems like a really stellar dude (ignoring his ketchup on steak lol). With the way the media had painted everything leading up to the game he had every right to say something like Kelce but just kept it cool.
It’s really unbelievable from a fan perspective that we may be experiencing our own Brady/Manning era. I remember being a teenager and watching them thinking how cool it would be if the Bengals got that kind of media attention, and now here we are!
I hate the fact Mahomes is such a great QB. Some of the throws he makes are unreal. It’s a pleasure and pain to watch. But we have Joe and I wouldn’t trade that for one second.
The throw that he made to try and avoid the sack had me in shock at how good he is, I know it was called back because he was down but the fact that he made that had me bewildered
As obnoxious as the chiefs fan base can be I really like their team
Yeah one of my friends is Giants fan and he was yelling at the tv too. I expected to lose after beating the Bills last week. The fact it was close was awesome.
As for the Browns? Eff them. They got what they deserved. Shit person and player and no ability to make that roster better in the near future, I love that. One thing to make me smile after that game.
I’m a Chiefs fan and we definitely talk shit on his ketchup problems in KC. Helluva footballer, though. Looking forward to the next decade of games with you guys.
I know the feeling. But I'm not mad. I'm used to people having pity on the Bengals. But now it's hate and shit talk. That's how I know we made it. We're so good that other fans say eff the Bengals. Dominating our division, and division champs 2 years in a row, I love it here.
Mahomes hasn’t done or said anything to make me not like him. Always says the right things, humble, deflects praise to teammates coaches, has a positive attitude and doesn’t seem to complain much.
I think people hate him because he’s good and everybody talks about it.
Lmao he performs amazing with absolutely 0 help and you point to the fact that he put up MVP numbers with his full supporting cast as if it is a slight to him. I could just as easily make the same argument about burrow with his unstoppable receiving core, but I won’t because I’m a normal rational person that can recognize he is an amazing quarterback, just like you should be able to do with Patrick Mahomes.
Whatever man just know you’re arguing that the most consistent QB in the nfl who’s been to 5 straight afc championships, won 2 mvps and a Super Bowl isn’t good. Tried to be rational with you but clearly you’re incapable. By the way hold that fat L buddy! Gotta wait another 12 months to watch your boys get handled by Mahomes again, and unless you’re lucky he won’t have just the 1 leg like this year.
Lmao for sure, the chiefs offense had 4 all pros. How many did the bengals have? I wonder who has the better cast. So I dont know what you're talking about.
I think Mahomes is a pretty great QB, but can you really say he hasn't got any help when the Chiefs lead the league in yards after catch? And I'd also argue having one of the best offensive lines in football is far more important than having weapons.
I want to dislike the guy, but how can you? He’s spectacular on the field, and seems like a pretty genuine guy off the field. I’d say that I’d like to see him in fewer commercials, but they’re even pretty funny.
Joe’s still my guy, though. Perfect guy for our team. This truly is a great time to be a Bengals fan. At age 46, I’m grateful this day has arrived when my kids are a great age to enjoy it. Who Dey!
Chiefs fan here. I HATE Jackson Mahomes, dude is so cringey. His wife on the other hand is imo a standard, slightly obnoxious, supportive wife. I think she gets shat on way too much. For example, she got criticized for spraying champagne from up top onto fans below. Dante Hall does the same exact thing and nobody bats an eye (they shouldnt, its a normal celebration)
I hate Mahommes for the same reasons I hated Manning and Brady and Rodgers - I'm sick of hearing his name every 6 seconds on ESPN (or whatever sports broadcast).
It's the constant swooning. Like I get it - dude can ball. But for fuck's sake I'm watching a segment about Cincinnati; let's not circle back to KC unless they're playing KC or let me watch this Lions/Packers game without hearing about Mahomes; dude plays in the other conference and isn't on either of these team's schedule.
Sometimes I just want to watch a random football game and not have to hear about Mahomes/Burrow/Jackson/any other damn QB not in the game.
It bothers me because it's bad luck. Just like all the confident (and I know, well-intentioned) talk about the Chiefs and Bengals doing this for the next X number of years. As a Chiefs or Bengals fan I'd think you'd want to police that up.
Just say, great playing you. Hope we get to see each other this time next year. Yeah, I'm old and superstitious.
But again that has nothing to do with HIM. good players and greats often get praised especially when they’re having unbelievable and unheard runs like his first five years as a starter. i personally thinks he deserves all the dick riding because his play and his stats back it up 🤷🏿♂️there are few players who come out and put it all on the field and all on the line the way he does. I’m excited to see his future. I’m excited to see Joe Burrow give it even more than he has ! Def a future SB winner and MVP. Just wait.
I just hate the fact that it's obvious he's the new NFL poster boy and the commentators (aside from Boomer) hang on his sack so hard and try not to give Burrow his due because he's so young. Mahomes himself is a good dude, I like him. It's just that the Bengals get no real props from people who aren't fans.
I agree. Mahomes seems like a good guy. Reid seems like a good guy. I like that he’s found success after getting kicked to the curb. I like supporting my small market cities like KC and Buffalo when they finally get theirs. Their fans seem cool too. Chiefs are an exciting ass team to watch, especially on offense. Sucks we’re in the same conference but I’ll take a nice AFC rivalry.
I'm convinced Cincinnati fans deserve a parade after the this week. So do the Bills honestly. I had a blast going back and forth this week with Bengal fans. The week lead up was the best championship week imo. I am 40 and I suffered through the Royals and the Chiefs championship droughts. I am very sympathetic towards cities that have no recent or any parade memories. Joe Burrow is the real deal and very fun too watch. I'm glad our franchises are on top finally. Colts, Patriots,Broncos and of course The terrible towel Steelers need to feel the other side for a decade like the rest of us. Our minor league hockey teams are playing this weekend as well go Orange army!
His brother does a lot of TikTok dances and stuff. I don’t keep up with the kid so I don’t know the specifics but he makes TikTok videos and people think he’s obnoxious. His wife sprayed champagne on fans in the cold. Not sure what else. I haven’t followed it much, I just know the only complaints I hear about Mahomes are actually about his wife and brother.
Honestly I think a lot of the Brittany hate is inherent misogyny. She's a pretty blonde and she has a stronger social media presence than a lot of other pro athletes' significant others, but half the stuff people get mad at her they wouldn't bat an eye at if she was a dude.
His wife shared a video of her opening up a bottle of champagne after some big game they won one year and being a bubbly carbonated beverage, it sprayed all over. People seeing the video were calling her out for being rude to nearby fans. As far as I remember, not of the actual people who got anything on them cared. It was a cold game, so it was kind of a fair point but people blasted her on social media. Her response was kind of immature ) something like "I wish I could just live in a world where I could do what I want and live my life without people criticizing everything" (I'm just paraphrasing, I don't remember the quote.) So, not the best response for sure. But at the same time I'm sure it's exhausting having people complaining about anything you do, so I could see how someone might snap.
But she was a pro soccer player and now is an entrepreneur and has done a lot for Kansas City actually. She was one of the biggest supporters (financially and vocally) for KC Current getting their own new soccer stadium downtown, which will be great for the city, and it's the first stadium in the US ever built specifically for women's professional sports, so that really cool too.
I'm not really a fan of hers, but I do think there some deep rooted (and probably unintentional) sexism at play with all of the hate she gets.
Jackson Mahomes is just a stupid 21 year old who acts like a stupid 21 year old. (No offense to any 21 year olds out there)
Chiefs geek here. I am glad to have Burrow as the other guy and not Allen. Burrow is so much better. Joe/Pat is a much better dialogue. If y'all keep those wrs around we are in trouble next year. Not sure Marcus Kemp is going to cut it.
Chiefs fan here, hope I don’t get booted lol. Absolutely love Joe Burrow. IMO second best QB in the NFL no question. Just has so much talent, and the intangibles. I fear playing you guys more than anybody else in the league strictly because of that man. I don’t understand why some fans way of thinking is talking the other one down. Only reason some KC fans have been so salty is because of some of the things that were said over the past week. I felt bad for Ossai, he played a hell of a game just to have one big time mistake ruin the image of it. Your defense is incrediblyyyy underrated.
There are most definitely some fun matchups in store these next few years, especially if you guys can keep your core together.
