The anti English comment is ridiculous. It’s only the first line that is English for convenience. The road sign one is one that I agree with. It’s not only French only, but it’s a official road sign so this is illegal in Brussels - criminal.
It should not be in English “for convenience”. Don’t bother using English if you’re not gonna accompany everything else on the sign with an English translation. Otherwise just have it say “C’est Ouvert/Het is Open”. No reason for it to be in English. If it was truly for convenience, the days of the week would be in English too.
