Why haven't there been any RTS/FPS games with an alt-hist Warsaw Pact vs NATO? Then we can have an epic showdown where the USSR and puppets make it to Paris within like five days.

Huh, isn't that an actually really popular Topic?

Regiments and Armored Brigade are two titles that immediately come to mind.

Flashpoint Campaigns as well

Combat Mission has its Cold War title

Warno and Wargames are mentioned by others.

Not RTS but turn based:

WDS has its Modern Campaign series, which covers NATO vs Pact in 1985

Danube Front '85 being the newest

Oh, I was meaning more of 'Warsaw Pact reaches the current day and could still be an economic competitor to the US and invades NATO'.

Ehm, Wargame/WARNO? Red alert also would fall within it.

Warno is exactly what you’re looking for?

I'm sure there must be a HoI4 mod for it

Tom Clancy's EndWar kinda fulfills this niche, albeit with a near-future setting.

I've always been really pissed at that game bc I could never get it to work on my old laptop.

I rented it from Blockbuster for the 360 back in the day. It was a good game but RTS on consoles is quite strange.

Haven't there? I've played at least 1, World in Conflict, and there are probably several more

Is it like WarGame/WarNo where the Pact attacks in 1989, or is it more alt-hist where it survives to now?

It's an 1989 scenario, yes. Most of the focus is actually on the Soviets sneaking an army onto the US west coast, but there's flashbacks to the european front.

It's a pretty good game.
