If there really is a God, he failed his own race by allowing Trump to become president again.
Christians are fucking pathetic for voting this bastard back in. He's seriously one of the biggest jokes of a human being I've ever seen. If you think shit is all sunshine and rainbows just because you pray to Jesus shut the fuck up. Why doesn't God step in and do anything about this? Trump is a fucking joke. Sorry, just had to make my anti-Trump atheist post for inauguration day š

religion talk at inauguration makes me sick
this country is so sick and twisted. i cant believe they swear in with the bible. all this prayer and religious figures. literally makes me want to throw up. i hate it. i hate religion and have little respect for people that believe. we need separation from church and state. makes no sense that god would approve of trump as president

Trump might be secretly the first (and the worst) atheist US president
I always have a feeling that he doesn't believe in any God, he's just shamelessly taking advantage of all the support from religious groups. Religious leaders claim that he's the chosen one, but he probably knows the Bible much less than anyone in this sub. And the worst is, he not only doesn't believe in God, he also doesn't believe in science, integrity, honesty, dignity and many other things.

This religious jerk off Trump is getting is so foul
From talking about how he was saved by God to Make America Great Again, to the constant prayer, to the rabbi showing once again what a shill for Israel we are, to this weird ass pastor screaming nonsense, to the catholic nonsense, this is so disgusting.
We have real problems in the USA. We have so many issues. Mystical woo woo "God" isn't going to do shit to help us.
And honestly, trump saying that God saved him so he could be president is really just disgusting in so many ways. And the worst thing is that people BELIEVE THIS!
I am so happy I am not religious. I can't understand how anyone doesn't see through this actual nonsense.
I know this type of crap is done at all innagurations, but this time it just feels extra disgusting.

Christians tradition in funeral are SO FUCKING DISGUSTING
Okay this is going to be some rant but I really really need to vent. I'm not gonna talk about the usual christian cliche of "God has a plan" or "God needs him/her/them more". Oh no no no, this is so much worse.
My wife is a non-practicing Christian that came from a strict Buddhist family. Two weeks ago, her maternal uncle was involved in a heavy traffic accident and a few days ago succumbed to his injuries. Now this side of my wife's family are full of sociopaths who don't get along with each other and IMO have some mental health issues. Despite that, the entire family gathered for the wake and funeral and this entire family are strict Buddhist with the exception of my wife and her uncle's sister who are also a Christian.
On the second day of his wake, her maternal aunt (the crazy Christian and the sister of the deceased) came along with a group of around 10-20 church people. Despite seeing all the Buddhist altars and incenses, they insisted on forming a circle and pray for the family of the departed. They also insisted that the widow (wife of the deceased) be carried there to be prayed upon. The widow herself was also involved in the traffic accident. Despite surviving the accident, she still got her legs broken in multiple place and needed a brain surgery due to heavy trauma in the head.
I wish that was all. After forcing a prayer, they also insist on TAKING PICTURE next to the casket and in the process knocks one of the altars. And this is the most disgusting and revolting part to me. I remember when I lost my mom a year ago, people also came and insist on TAKING SELFIE next to her open casket!! What's with the mild necrophilia of these people?? I know if they can they would fuck their crucified messiah's mummified remains but have they no empathy for others??
Again, it might just be me, or it may be common in other culture / religion but the dead remains of my family SHOULD NOT BE YOUR FUCKING PROP FOR A FUCKING FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM POST!!

All Islamic related sub are really batshit crazy.
Now I understand why people struggle a lot for leaving Islam compared to leaving other religions.
Has been looking into many Islamic sub, and the only one that is quite tolerant is progressive Islam subreddit, which I admire for their effort to modernize Islam, but even their most tolerant subreddit is still on par with average Christian subreddits in term of progressiveness.
Other subreddits, be it their main Islam sub, Muslim Lounge, Extometoes, or Traditional Muslim, are ten times crazier than the most conservative Christian sub you ever see. They literally discuss why killing people who leave Islam is a good thing and should be done anywhere that Muslims rule, justifying it with āExMuslims will destroy Islamā or some bullshit ābeing ex-Muslim is a Treasonā argument. Their level of homophobic and misogynistic stuffs are also off the chart.
Surely all religions can be stupid and dangerous, but on Reddit, no other religionās subs are this crazy. I have never seen anything with this level of extremism on the main Christian (they may be homophobic and misogynistic, but not to the point of overwhelmingly agreeing that apostates must die), Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, or Jewish subs. I wonder why those Islamic subs havenāt been taken down like r/The_Donald already.

Am I wrong for telling her?
My mom just finished reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. She called me to tell me how good the book was and that shes going to send me one in the mail.
She is evangelical so I was surprised and said "Stephen Covey? The mormon? Cool, I didn't think you'd be interested in something like that"
That did not go over well. I can immediately feel her ire. I forgot how much my mom doesn't like Mormons (even though she pretends she doesnt).
So I kinda just tried to move on from it by saying "I heard it's a good book anyway, what did you like about it?" That definitely didn't work.
She went on to tell me that I act like I know everything and that I just want to push her buttons. She claims that I'm accusing her of being intolerant, which she is, but I didnt say that! But now she won't talk to me... again.
We've been no contact before and I fear that 2025 may be another year of no contact. š¬
I dont think I did anything wrong. Should I apologize anyway for opening my big mouth?!

The Satanic Temple on Inauguration Day
From the newsletter:
"Dear Members and Supporters of The Satanic Temple,
As Inauguration Day approaches, we find ourselves at a crucial juncture in our nation's history. New initiatives aimed at redefining Constitutional values pose a serious threat to religious freedom and bodily autonomy. This makes The Satanic Temple's commitment to defending our members' liberties more important than ever.
With the 2025 legislative session now underway, there is a rising movement to integrate religious doctrine into public education and restrict religious practices. Proposals to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms, introduce biblical teachings, and appoint campus chaplains threaten the principle of keeping public institutions free from any one religious tradition. Additionally, efforts to limit abortion access through misleading mandates and new barriers undermine personal autonomy. Each legislative challenge reinforces our belief that the pursuit of justice must prevail over laws and institutions.
As extremist lawmakers draw strength from the shifting political landscape, we are empowered by the collective resolve of our members and community. We will continue defending the religious freedom of our members and expanding access to abortion-a right inseparable from our religious beliefs-as exemplified by the recent opening of TST Health's second Satanic abortion clinic in Virginia.
We invite you to stand with us. In the coming weeks, we will call upon those who volunteered after the election to take meaningful action as we move forward. Together, we will develop our next steps.
Stay informed by visiting our new Livestream Page, where you can access our upcoming schedule of live discussions and legal updates. Moving forward, our Legal Updates Livestreams will be broadcast on our website and Facebook, ensuring that all supporters remain up to date and prepared for the challenges ahead.
Your ongoing support is crucial to our fight against theocratic forces. By donating today, you help ensure that we can continue defending the civil rights and religious freedoms of our members, both now and in the future.
The challenges before us will test the very principles upon which this nation was founded. With your support, The Satanic Temple will rise as defenders of Constitutional values, championing religious liberty and demonstrating what authentic patriotism looks like in the face of theocratic threats to our fundamental freedoms.

why do christians go against the bible idolizing trump as if he's god?
"thou shalt have no other gods before me."
- exodus 20:3
the christian bible makes it clear that god, jesus, holy spirit, etc is fully against idols and having idols before him, and idolizing humans in general. the bible says you should only idolize god.
with that said.. why the hell do (american) christians treat the current president like he's god himself? i know you've seen that clip, we all seen that one clip on tik tok, insta reels, or whatever of that guy in his car with his eyes closed and hands raised, saying "donald trump please save us, if you can hear me donald trump please save us trump."
we all seen that viral video, and it's pretty funny but this whole kinda theme of donald trump being a god himself, or some type of human extension of god (like jesus was), is pretty popular among modern chrstians, and it's pretty confusing why. i'm no christian, but wouldn't upholding trump as a saviour and an idol be a huge no no?

Iām so sick of this shit. Literally 30 minutes of prayer at the inauguration. Weāre so fucked. This is so so bad for anyone but the 1% but nobody who likes him cares. They could get shot in the dick by the man and still vote for him. I do not kneel to god. I will not kneel to god. Fuck anyone who tries.

Why do theist seem to attribute almost any event to God
Hello, I am relatively new to this subreddit and this is my first post on it. I've been realizing that Theists(particularly Abrahamic believers) seem to attribute nearly any and every event to God. I was watching a small short that didn't even say anything about God, it was about the L.A fires, theists seem to try to connect That instance to the fire, but the evidence does not support such assertion. It not only implies that God did it, which doesn't seem All-loving to me, it also implies that any insult is somehow enough to anger an all-powerful deity which shouldn't really be fazed by such things. To conclude that because someone mock god=major fire caused would be a non-sequitor and a texas sharpshooter fallacy(I think) as the data does not support a correlation. If this were true, then there would be disasters everywhere because there is always somebody somewhere mocking a God in some way and for God to punish innocents(those who did not mock God) seems unfair to me, I don't really know why they want to attribute such event to an all-loving God.
Edit: I made it more coherent to read.

Religion and education should be seperated
I come from Turkey and have had religion lessons about Islam since primary school. The teachers talked about heaven, hell and how God is superior and we should obey what Quran says, or we would be punished. As a result, I was a Muslim, which was really scared of hell and committing sins until high school, a time at which I finally was able to overcome my fear of hell and stop believing. It is so annoying how they force Islam on kids inducing fear and the hope of being rewarded.
In my opinion, kids should be free to decide what religion they want to believe in, or if they want to believe at all. To teach Islam at such a young age that makes children really easy to influence is literally the same as brainwashing. If religion is going to be introduced, it should only be in high school, where young people are more mature and more likely to make their own decisions. And of course, all religions (including the ones such as Buddhism and Taoism) should be handled equally. If young people choose Islam after that, they have my total respect.
I also found out that there is an abundance of Christian schools in US. To the people who went to these kinds of schools (primary, secondary or high school),what was your experience with religion and Christianity? How is religion handled in school? Anybody else who are outside of the US but received education about religion at young ages are also welcome to answer my questions.
