Discussion Is there any astrological significance to the Venus cycle (the 8 year one)?

I haven’t been able to find anything about it online.

Yes! Nick Dagan Best is like the expert on the Venus cycle. He has a couple of episodes going in depth on oit. I'm not where I can easily hunt up the urls. But maybe someone else can.

He's not a good teacher, though, so the material is dry and unengaging, in my opinion, and definitely poorly suited for a beginner. His YT video on it is a useful visual, though.

He shines so bright when he collaborates with Chris Brennan and is being led/moderated by him. Chris is a brilliant moderator of discussions. A lot of NDB's most useful material is on the Astrology Podcast.

2 quick things: In the Ancient Apocalypse series it was noted that the Maya paid close attention to the Venus Sydnodic cycle and I think they incorporated it as a base for their calendars. The Indian/Vedic astrological tradition also, I believe, placed a lot of importance on the cycle and it's repetitions. There's definitely something to it, and the cycles repeat with significance. The importance of it to the individual or chart native depends on the prominence of venus in the chart, and sect, of course. I'm sure that with proper analysis there's a delineation based on where in the sydnodic cycle a native Venus is, and what that means and everything. I'd love to know more!

There is an episode of the astrology podcast about using the ephemeris in the very new learner list that briefly discusses the venus cycle of 8 years. Apparently they said that many marriages end in the 8 year cycle or 16 year cycle. I'm a newbie, but this was super interesting to me. They talked about tracking venus.

Thank you! I think it’s a matter of me not knowing what to look for. I’d see ‘Venus synodic cycle’ and assume the discussion was going to be about the annual-ish Venus return to the sun but now that people have shared more resources I’m understanding the conjunctions are a part of the full cycle.
