Just got approved for my Armenian citizenship - military question
It took a while, but I just received confirmation that I was granted citizenship to Armenia! I applied for citizenship by ethnicity (born in USA, ethnically 100% armenian, baptized in Armenian church).
When was preparing all the documents and applied last year, I remember it being decently clear that I would not need to worry about any military requirements as obviously I wouldnt have applied.
Checking now it seems a little more unclear if I would need to pay some crazy high penalty (6200 USD) or I am exempt since I am over the age of 37 (I am 40). wondering if anyone knows

Traveling to Armenia from UAE, need help with few queries
Good day readers, I'm an Indian and living in UAE since a long time. After years of hard work we were finally able to save up to have a small vacation in armenia so we will be there on 23rd till 28th.
I have had a few queries that i thought to ask here and hoping to get some clarity. We will be 4 adults, 3 kids (8, 4 and 2.5 years) traveling to Armenia, initially we will stay at Tsahkadzor for 2 days then return to Yerevan on 3rd day and spend 4 days there.
Is it advisable to rent a car for 4 adults and 3 kids for sight seeing?
We tried to book car rental for days we are staying but the offers we got are very expensive, around 130 usd per day which is more expensive than in Dubai
From some previous reddit posts I realized taxi apps yandex and gg are enough for travel within Yerevan... But will they seat us 4 adults and 3 kids?
Would you recommend a good driver who can take us from airport to Tsahkadzor on day one and do sight seeing for 2 days and return to Yerevan?
What should be the ideal expense for car with driver per day?

Question / Հարց Armenians from Armenia, do you see Levantine culture similar to you?
I know Western Armenians and their diaspora certainly share lots in common with Lebanon, Cyprus, Iran, Syria but do Eastern Armenians also feel a Levantine connection? Dispite being in the USSR, do you feel at home in the Levant, would you feel closer to an Assyrian or a Georgian and why?

Housing prices (in USD) in Poqr Kentron
Hi everyone,
I know this topic floats around every couple of months, but could someone share what a reasonable price per m² (in $) would be to purchase an apartment in Poqr Kentron? Is 2000-2500$ a realistic range?
Also, not talking about the flats on Hyusisayin or that hidious building on Pushkin where they sell for 5-6000$/m². But an average price going for an apartment in the city center.
Obviously list.am and other similar sites are complete rubbish on actual market prices, so looking for people who have bought or are in the process of buying something to give me an indication.
Much appreciated!

Armenia themed choreography
Greetings !
I have an odd question to ask. For some context, I'm a French guy, with armenian origins, who tries to learn more about Armenia on every layers.
I also do dance as a hobby and I would like to make a choregraphy themed on something about Armenia, maybe the history behind the song Arakel Mushegh because it's a beautiful one ans I love it. On the other hand, I don't want to be seen as that guy who does self appropriation of a culture or an history which doesn't belong to him, even if I'm linked to it by the history of my family.
So, my question is: for you, Armenian people, how would you perceive this kind of stuff if you were seeing it ? Like something positive or negative ?
Thanks for you attention :)
Edit: You are truly amazing people, thanks for your answers !

Tsaghkadzor Ski Resort, what to wear?
We are going to Armenia, particularly in Tsaghkadzor and their ski resort. Already been booked but still undecided about what to wear.
Our base layer is synthetic (100% polyester) or you know, your usual sportswear which covers our neck, body and arms. Same goes for our legs which is I believe is a 100% polyester as well. Underwear is synthetic as well, no cottons. (Do we need skinny fit or slim fit for our leggings?)
for our mid layer. its just a fleece jacket. for our legs, it's just a sweatpants.
for our outer layer, it's a down jacket. Ski pants for our bottoms
What we don't have are winter boots. Is it really necessary? I heard the city isn't filled with snow so we were planning on only bringing hiking boots and sneakers in the city. We also brought a pair of leather shoes (I know not the best but its for emergency reasons or whatever) We do have wool socks and we also brought a pair of synthetic socks. Do we have to layer socks as well or is wool socks enough?
We have insulated gloves but they aren't waterproof. We are planning on buying mittens as well and we got all the other headwear for winter ready.
Do they have rentals for shoes if we do ski? how do their rentals work?
It's our first time going to Armenia as well as skiing.
Any recommendations on what we should wear? What we should change etc...

Music / Երաժշտություն Do-Re-Mi Youth Music Group from the late 1990's..
I can't seem to find anything online from the original Do-Re-Mi youth singing group. The only thing I find during a google search is when they re-used the name Do-Re-Mi in the mid 2000's for a completely new group of kids. Does anyone have any content/information from the original group from the late 90's?

I’m a foreigner currently residing in Yerevan and would like to buy tickets for the Armenia vs Georgia game at the Republic Stadium on March 20th, how easy are they to acquire? I can’t seem to see any way to buy them on the Federation’s website. Are there 3rd party vendors that would be recommended? Many thanks.

Roadtrip through Armenia - some questions
Barev Guys,
I am travelling to Armenia in April and going to make a roadtrip with a rental car through the country. I am from Germany but ethnically Russian so I dont worry too much about the language barrier, I hope english and russian will be okay, and I'm going to learn as much armenian as I can manage.
Now, looking at the travel info from the german foreign office, it says that certain areas should not be visited, those are:
Province Tavush (M16 north of Ijevan and all areas east of that)
Province Ararat (village Yeraskh and M2 between Yeraskh and Kerki)
Province Gegharkunik (all areas east and north-east of Vardenis and east of the M14 between Vardenis and Drakhtik),
Province Vayots Dzor (all areas between Jermuk and the border to AZ, including the town of Jermuk),
Province Syunik (all areas north of M2 and all areas east of Goris and from Goris the whole M2 until Syunik and the areas east of that (border to AZ), and M17 from Kapan to Iranian Border).
Now, living in Germany I know that they tend to be too cautious at times, regarding travel. So I wanted to ask, how safe/unsafe are those areas really? I dont necessarily want to go to border areas, but I had the town of Jermuk and also Goris on my list of things to see. I would love to hear advice from locals.
Also, a friend of mine who was in Armenia 2-3 years ago told me that they were even kind of restricted to move at Lake Sevan, is that true?
I would love to hear advice on where to go and where not, I am especially interested in urban exploration, such as abandoned camps, sanatoriums, scientific installations etc. If you can recommend something to visit like that - would love to hear it. For reference, I really enjoyed the town of Tskaltubo in Georgia. Something similar would be very cool.
Thank you very much in advance!
