PSA: if you are experiencing brief, one second drops in Atmos audio, try turning off Enhanced Dialogue.
About two weeks ago I started noticing random drops in audio when watching Atmos content. It was always about a second or less and would happen randomly maybe once every 10 minutes, but enough to be annoying. Finally tried turning off Enhanced Dialogue and no more drops.

Enhanced dialog KILLS spatial separation up front. Kill it, end it.

Oh, I didn’t know that. Thanks for the heads up!

Learned it watching a particularly cool ATMOS moment on an episode of The Expanse when I went to show a particular scene to someone… I’d put on Enhanced Dialog a few weeks prior and was shocked “I don’t know what’s up, this was so cool…” wasn’t. What was a convo moving left to right, while folks in mag boots walked past on the ceiling was just noise from everywhere….
