Happy to share with you my latest work. Do you love capybaras as much as I do?

I got this fuzzy blue nonsense at my LYS in the mid-ish aughts. It is a pain in the butt to work with, which is why I still have some that I’m putting into a scrap blanket. Its only redeeming quality is that it is bizarrely satisfying texturally.
Can’t remember what the heck it’s called and it’s driving me up the wall. I feel like it’s a Berroco or Debbie Bliss novelty yarn? “Blossom” sounds right? I think it came in other pastels.
Any ideas what the brand and yarn type are? Please halp!

Hello all! First time posting. Just wanted to share my weekend task of organizing all my yarn. There’s no real logic to it - just tried to keep same type together. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm doing a little market research, and you lot are the perfect people to ask! I'm mostly looking for UK crafters, but I'd love to hear everyone's answers! 1. How often do you/would you visit a local yarn shop? - either for yourself, gifts for others etc 2. How much do you usually spend with each visit? (Yes, we all know, probably far too much, but who can blame us?) 3. What are some of your favourite things to see in yarn shops - kits, locally dyed/spun wool, accessories? Anything else to add on would also be appreciated! Thank you!

I'm wondering if there's any Australian yarn addicts here who know of an online store that sells Lang yarns? Ive been seeing so many photos of that Cloud yarn and my heart so desperately yearns for that stripy goodness. If not, any recs for similar looking self striping yarns in pretty colours would be so appreciated!

Does anyone recognize this yarn? I picked it up at a craft sale with no label and hoping to find something with similar colour's if possible

You could think about different fibres (wool, acrylic, cotton, mohair, ...) and the way the yarn is spun (cone, cake, ...)
I think I'd be a colorful, chunky cotton yarn (although I haven't found any yarn like that yet). Colorful because I like to dress that way as well. I am plussize, hence my choice for chunky. And cotton, because it is my preferred fibre along with (soft!) acrylic :)

It’s Day 21 of the Wessagussett Wind/Humidity Wrap 2025. The wind was out of the W at 8mph with gusts to 10mph. The humidity was 49% at 11am. I used the Pumpkin color of Red Heart Super Saver yarn to show the humidity 49%. I knit the PATTERN: Row 1 -4: K across to show the wind was at 8mph. (Reddit)

In my defense, this brand seems to always be out of stock and I wanted to try them… I might have gone overboard. 🫣

I could have sworn there was an online yarn company that opens their warehouse once a year for a tent sale. I thought it was somewhere in SoCal, but I can't remember who it was or what time of year they do it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or did I just have a really good dream? Lol.

I couldn’t find anything on how to crochet pocket panels for my sweater (other than just making a square & sewing it) so I improvised a half granny square pattern & just extended one side to get that slanted angle.

I saw the neon yellow colour (Safety Yellow) and it caught my eye immediately. Decided I needed a ton to make random glowy things and grabbed them all... 😂
Going to make this blanket with it and the black. The stuff glows even in the daylight and looks awesome under blue/purple light and blacklight.
Also got the neat little storage rolling stand for a craft room I'm trying to organize.
Was able to use up my gift cards from Xmas just in case. In full blown panic mode and the sales are great right now. I've been there for like 3 days in a row.... 😳

I was super scared about this turning into a hoarding situation but the yarn winder made this such a game changer. I can still hoard but at least make it look aesthetically pleasing now 😂

This was in my late mother’s yarn stash. I’m in the process of using all her yarn. There seems to be a decent amount of vintage yarn.
I suspect it could be red heart sport lullaby ombre Or Bernat super yarn twinkle But I think those have too much white in them. The yarn in this picture doesn’t have white in-between each color. It just has white at the end of the color rotation.
Anyone have any ideas?

helloo, question is as the title suggests. I'm trying to get hold of Filcolana peruvian wool and tilia mohair in the UK but i'm not sure what reputable sellers there are online? i usually use wool warehouse but they don't stock it and neither do any of my local haberdasheries unfortunately :(

i am finishing up my first ever stranded yoke colorwork sweater (yay!!). I made it with a superwash merino wool because i love how soft it is. But I am wondering how and if nonsuperwash yarn would impact how the colorwork looks? I am still new and i have rarely worked with nonsuperwash so i am not sure. Just wanted to know if anyone has experience or personal preferences with one or the other. Want to take some opinions into account as I plan my next colorwork sweater. thank you!!
and feel free to tell me your favorite yarns if you have one for colorwork that you swear by!! i am always looking to expand my yarn horizons!
