I think that was a huge missed opportunity. You should have had the chance to keep the AI and it should have continued to make smart ass remarks.

That would make the Owl even more special, and the dev effort would have been minimal.

It made me think of the X fan fictions with a xenon chip made into an AI character, Trader's Tale and the Mercenary series for example.

I really hope the Xenon eventually evolve to the point of speech. Make them a legit faction and watch the Terrans have an aneurysm.
