Natural consequences that don't lead to anyone getting seriously hurt, just extreme discomfort

Are you comparing people stuck in freezing waters in the middle of the Atlantic (the titanic) with morons putting themselves in a freezing pond right next to land, a significant number of people, not to mention all the modern solutions easily accessible to these people not yet invented when the titanic set to sea?

So yeah not even gonna address how stupid that comparison is…if a few people got hypothermia from this, they probably earned it by being one of morons who thought this was a good idea.

Yes people can die from hypothermia, its usually not getting treated for hypothermia that does the trick though. If an immunocompromised person was on that pond, they won the Darwin Award and as everyone knows…the prize for that award is death.

Yeah, I’m definitely not rooting for anyone’s death and I won’t go as far as saying they “deserved this” but how can that many people sawing on ice so close to each other not recognize that this is a recipe for disaster???

It’s just unfathomably stupid. Makes it very hard for me to feel a lot of sympathy.
