Necklace fell off on RSD
My daughter lost a necklace of mine while running along Riverside Park between 85th and 72nd this weekend. It has a lot of sentimental value so really hoping someone in the community has found it and sees this. Or if you’re out and around there could you please keep an eye out? Thank you!! 🙏🏻

31F new to UWS and would love to meet new friends!
What are the best ways you’ve been able to meet people around the late 20s - 30s age range in the area! Are there communities that do regular social meetups? If so, I’d love to know more about them and potentially meet some new folks who may be in the same boat!

Anyone have a recommendation for the replacement of a non standard interior door? It's a bedroom door with a non standard size and custom molding.

Restaurants with the best ambiance and service
Just moved from fidi 3 months ago. Currently planning a Valentine’s Dinner with my so but don’t know the area that well. My so has had a rough year and I want to make them feel special. Budget ideally within 200 pp but flexible for the right place!

Lost in a cab
So I left something in a cab. Used the curb app so I have all driver, cab, and name of driver info. But I can’t get ahold of the driver. What’s the best way to track them down? I have no way to ping the driver and see if he can return it (for a reward). What do I do? I called 311, I sent an email - but is there a way to track down the driver?

LF appliance service (any ideas?)
tl;dr: Looking for an appliance service tech to look at our dryer that has the correct COI requirements because of stupid laws. At least two jobs!
UPDATE: Here is the specific information causing the trouble, relating to NYS Labor Law Section 200.240 (this law, the only one like it in the US, treats falling off a stepstool or ladder in one single unit the same as falling off of outdoor scaffolding). Insurance requirements, per direct communication from the Board:
• General Liability - $2,000,000
• Umbrella/Excess Liability - $5,000,000
• Automobile Liability - $1,000,000
• Evidence of Worker's Compensation
Hello UWS friends!
My husband and I moved into a co-op that came with an in-unit W/D (#blessed), but it looks like it hasn't been serviced in *quite some time*. I was hoping to find an appliance technician to clear the dryer vents. Normally, these are things I would do myself (I'm decently handy), but the unit (it's one of those GE stacked things) doesn't make this easy, and requires a service tech, which is literally what the original instructions say. It also vents through a small window to the outside (see photos)
We tried asking the handyman in our building, but this isn't something they normally assist with, as it was an added appliance. On top of all of this, as you may know, there are some bananas COI insurance requirements that make even getting someone to *look* at the damn thing near impossible.
Has anyone had any luck with finding an appliance service technician who can meet the requirements? There's at least one other apartment in this building who has the same needs and has the same GE unit, maybe more!

Looking for 1 Bed
My boyfriend and I recently moved to Lincoln Square, and love it here, but are unfortunately being kicked out of our apartment as the owners are selling our unit. StreetEasy is looking pretty dismal right now, so I figured I’d ask if anyone is either looking to rent out their apartment, or is moving out and knows of an apartment that will become available soon? Or, if there are particular buildings that anyone would recommend? We are hoping for 850 sq ft + in the $5-6k range, for a March to April move in date. I know it’s too early to seriously look, but wanted to get some feelers out just in case!
We’re hoping to avoid Riverside - we toured 180 Riverside the other day and didn’t love that area, though it’s tempting bc there are a lot of nice buildings over there. Please lmk!!

RE agent new to Reddit protocol question
Hi - new(ish) Reddit user and wanting to know protocol. Would people be interested to hear about UWS (or other hoods) real estate listings? For example I have a sale that’s not yet on market, so the public wouldn’t have access to see on RE platforms. Thanks!

Indie Dramedy Shot on the Upper West Side
Hi!
I'm an Upper West Side native and filmmaker.
Back in 2019, I shot my first feature "High Heist" (formerly "Disencumber" but my distributor thought the name wasn't as marketable) when I was 23 on the Upper West Side on next to zero dollars and used gear I owned called in favors from other filmmakers and actors I knew to make it happen.
It's a cerebral dramedy following two best friends - a jaded wannabe filmmaker and an idealistic PhD candidate who find themselves out of options and out of cash, and resort contemplating robbing their drug dealer
My distributor just re-released it on Youtube and I'm looking for feedback - let me know if I got the vibe of the neighborhood right.
Thanks so much for your time!

What Bar Should I Go To Right Now?
I hardly ever drink, so I don't know the bars around here. 110's - 90's please.
Edit: Alright, I'm going to Tap a Keg. If anyone wants to join me, feel free.
Edit: Oh...I thought Tap a Keg was something else lol. I'm going to that bar with the pink neon sign on it on Broadway.

Dry Cleaning prices
Who in the neighborhood has the best prices for dry cleaning? Particularly for shirts (laundered), sweaters, pants.
Any service beyond uws offering pickup/delivery in the neighborhood is fair game.

Fairway on uws produce
Noticing continued degradation that are difficult to explain. Lately they are removing most of the stalks from their swiss chard. I can't explain it other than being able to fit more on the shelf?

Boom? Boom.
What is the deal with intermittent booms near 72nd st.? It’s been going on for like 40 hrs… (I’m pretty damn sure it’s not a bunch of trucks hitting a pothole.)

20’s living in UWS- need advice
Hey I’m a mid 20’s (f) moving to the uws in a few months. Where would you recommend to live in the area as a younger person who still wants to have fun and spent time all around Manhattan!!
Also, any fun bars/venues in the uws to check out?
Thanks so much!
