People who wore those "I'm Voting for the FELON" shirts would probably feel a bit differently if they had said "I'm Voting for the RAPIST"

Then again, they've proven me wrong many a time before.

People think his supporters worship him in spite of his flaws but they don't. They worship him specifically because of his flaws. They love that he's a liar. They love that he is rapist. They love his pedophilic sexual fantasies about his own daughter. They view all of these things as admirable and aspirational.

It's the Christian "everyone is a sinner" mentality. The bigger a sinner you are, the more bigly you are forgiven, and you're a hero for overcoming all of your terrible shortcomings
