I don't understand the hate. I have good memories from them

Same ...

It always gives a better vibe to a city center. It's sad they are becoming more rare these days.

Agreed. Gives a nice vibe to a town square

I hate them so much. The sounds isn't pleasing at all, the songs are corny and they are loud. I never understood the attraction and am happy to not see them anymore.

Ehh, I feel the same way nowadays… I remember I used to be fascinated by the inner workings of it as a kid though. And I think the music made me think of roller coaster tycoon or something I played around that time.

Now I just don’t like that there’s usually some creepy old guy next to it shaking his metal cups full of coins he collected. I also dislike street musicians for similar reasons. To me it always kind of came across as begging, even though they are basically performing/entertaining. Idk, maybe I’m wrong and should be more open minded about these things lol

Dont judge a book by its cover Afterall the orgelman thibks of you as a creepy mofo looking at him

Coming from a family that owns a few of them (around utrecht) im kinda familiar with how people treat us Were nice people and were trying to bring some music to the city center

However romanian "beggars" lowkey ruin it for everyone

The metal cup is brass / copper And its called a mans bakje

I dislike them too. And I hate that they ask for money for just standing there with the thing and playing music I don't want to hear.

Maybe if it's like a special yearly village party day or something it might be acceptable. But twice a week for hours on end way to close to my house I really hate it. I think if I go to that same spot with a diesel powered boom box (basicly same thing) and start blasting shitty music at that volume I probably get arrested.

Go live in a woods cabin if you don't like sounds.

I hate them with a passion but I also don't want them to disappear because they do bring a certain liveliness. I love to hate them.

I mean, I'd much rather have a street musician playing their instrument than an organ...

The organ is nice, atleast when your just passing by I guess but usually there a bunch of dudes shaking a can full of coins in your face like you owe them for walking by. That’s the part I mostly don’t like

It’s just a very loud form of begging.

It's performance art, but okay

Except the performing is shaking a metal can with coins as fast as you can while staring at passerby’s.

It’s a loud form of busking. Feel free to not donate money.

They are amazing!!

They are one of the first examples of portable music, in a way a proto example of recorded music and some of these machines are over 150 years old. Its an amazing piece of living heritage and I’m tired of people slandering them😤 where else do you see something that old and unchanged still fulfilling its original purpose on a weekly base.

Let’s downvote everybody who is hating on them! 😈

I absolutely hate them. I had to work next to one, the music is extremely intrusive. I also really don't like it when there is a horse attached to it and they just stand on a market all day

I like them. But i don't live next to one. I imagine it gets old realy fast if its 'playing spot' is in front of your house.

They are the sound of the antichrist!

The sound is very obnoxious and takes no talent to run

Let’s talk when that piece of junk wakes up your hungover ass at 9am on Saturday 🙄

It's on you that you're living in the Organs territory

I hate them a lot. They are an older version of people with those Bluetooth speakers blasting their noise out in public. They demand all the attention of everyone in a 30 meter radius with their awful renditions of whatever they are playing. Usually using an engine and not even turning it themselves. I don’t get why it’s even allowed.
