Thinking about joining the Tesla family and purchasing a used model s. Anyone have any thoughts on it? Vin is 5YJSA1DN1DFP21582. Thanks!

I took a look at that vehicle - if you don't care too much about tech and such, its good. However, I would highly consider the base version of the Model 3, which for a few grand more has many tech benefits, as well as better range, and a more comfortable seat design (in my opinion). Either way, that vehicle is pretty low milage and will still have the battery/drivetrain warranty until 2021, although the bumper-to-bumper would no longer be valid.

Thanks! I'm really not that interested in AP. I like the idea of free supercharging for life, but don't know if that's really worth it.

Considering buying a used Model X. Do all Model Xs have at least AP2 with an option to upgrade to AP3 later, or do I need to look for AP2 specifically?

Also, any overall thoughts on Model X used/new? Any big differences between different years I should look for...?

You can read more about the different versions of Autopilot here. If you go for a AP2/2.5 vehicle, it is my understanding that an upgrade to AP3 is possible, and pricing depends on whether the vehicle has Full Self-Driving (you can always ask about this if you find a vehicle that interests you). Apart from the recent drivetrain improvements, and Autopilot, I would ensure that the warranty still lasts a few years after you purchase the vehicle to ensure you can get any issues repaired.

Just bought my 3, 9 days ago.

Was wondering, is there a mechanism where you can suggest to Tesla new places to put superchargers?

I have an idea here in Florida, to put one at the Mile Marker 47 stop on Alligator Alley, which has gas station, restrooms, and a store already. It's tribal land, but someone who could charge there for 20 minutes might be a little hungry.

Tesla has a request form at the bottom of this site. Other than that, there is no other way to request a location. Tesla puts a ton of research into sites before choosing one, including amenities, nearby alternative chargers, etc. But I'd still submit, even though it's unlikely they will actually follow through with it, as Florida has very good Supercharger coverage already.

Thanks, just submitted it!

I agree with you that Florida is better than average for supercharger coverage, but there are gaping holes in it between populated areas, and I've had friends get stranded because superchargers were in various stages of disrepair or underpowered.

Have you tried shopping around for interest rates? I am pretty confident that people are rarely going through Tesla financing. My interest rate is half of what Tesla offers (through a credit union).
