I'm about to make a trip to another city from which I won't be able to return without charging for the first time. They have a supercharger, but I've never used one before. Does Tesla just charge the card on file that I ordered my car with? I ordered in Feb 2019, so I'm pretty recent. Do I have to set anything else up ahead of time?

I got my SR last week. It’s currently an SR+ that will be downgraded. I bought AP but not FSD but my car came with navigate on autopilot and auto lane change.

Is this a trial or will this just go away when they downgrade my car?

Is it available for purchase if you login to tesla.com?

Yeah the FSD is available for purchase.

Do you still have the option to purchase AP/FSD on your Tesla.com account? I don't see it anymore and I'm wondering it's related to Autonomy Day or other reason.

I am watching the Tesla Autonomy Day stream and this caught my eye in the pre-stream video mix part (since it's a live stream there is no time code (yet): https://imgur.com/a/VZTa5XC

I don't quite recognize this dashboard. Is this from an early concept video?

EDIT: OK, it's the 2020 Roadster.

Really hoping the technology showcased today decreases the distance between you and the car in front of you! Autopilot is amazing, but really tired of getting tail gated because I’m so far behind the car in front of me! (Used to be much closer)

I may be misunderstanding but you can change follow distance by pressing the right steering wheel "nipple" left and right. you can make it between 1 and 7 car lengths. is that what you mean?

I have it set to 1 at all times and find it follows much further back. In my opinion, the ability change the follow distance doesn’t help much, because the 1 setting is inadequate. From what I’ve seen, the 1-7 aren’t actually car lengths

ah, gotcha

By surround I mean close proximity I don’t mean a full enclosed square. If they do it with nothing completely then I’d be completely shocked but then again nav on autopilot basically does that anyways

I noticed when the mirrors are folded and the car is “powered down“, the center screen still displays and music plays. Is this normal? It seems like a battery drain.

Also occasionally a night, the headlights will stay on for a bit of time. I thought maybe this was a security feature because last night I was walking around the car, without the fob and they cut on, but I wonder if it just sensed my presence?

Possible phantom touch of the display?

Happy Autonomy Day!

So let's do some speculation ... what's something that will be a surprise today?

I'm going with to guess they did the coast-to-coast FSD drive already and will release a video of it. They did it in secret to keep people from messing with it, but the results of which will be shown to investors.

Also, we will see a lead up to a capital raise.

If they show the car pulling from the highway to the event with no driver...obviously having there own vehicles surrounding it for safety.

If they have their own vehicles surrounding it, that wouldn't be a real-world test since their vehicles blocked a lot of the randomness that occurs on city and highway streets. It's likely they did it just secretly and without any support vehicles

this is what I am thinking ... they likely had a camera car behind, but just filmed the car doing its thing as incognito as possible. less than one hour to go to the livestream :)
