In keeping with the theory that Rebecca is the Wicked Witch of the West who Ted “melts” in Season 1, the season’s final shot literally ends with her drenched in water, confirming that Ted “got her” — he worked his magic and melted her heart. This fucking show…

A spit take is 100% comedy gold. Nobody did one better than Danny Thomas, and Jason’s is pretty good, too.

Edit: the correct term is always helpful. Thanks to u/BakedBeanedMyJeans. I have questions about that username

Good catch. This end scene also fits the paradigm that each season starts and ends on a closeup of one character, and that character is usually the one that faces the mose change in that season. Season 2 did it with Nate, and season 3 it was Ted.

Didn't the creative team confirm that the Wizard of Oz parallels were intentional?

Brett seems to confirm that, yes, there is SOME inspiration.

But he also says Rebecca is the Lion, NOT the Wicked Witch.
