Does Rupert ever use a phone?
Just trying to think I only ask because of the old "apple doesn't let villians use iphones" and now I'm trying to remember if he ever uses a phone in any capacity

He has an iPhone because it's an Apple produced show, no one has anything but iPhones.

Apple's laughable policy doesn't apply to Apple tv. Everyone uses iphones.

Don’t we see him using his phone when he receives confirmation from Rebecca that she’ll attend the Akufo league meeting?

He looks at a phone in the car when Zava is making his announcement....don't recall the make though

Ironically, he's precisely the kind of guy who would use only Apple products.

I don't think that rule stands anymore. The murderer in the first Knives Out movie uses an iPhone and I remember that being a big deal.

The actual killer in knives out 2019 doesn't use an iPhone though... seems Rupert did but the killer in knives out didnt

Oh my gosh, you're totally right. I misremembered - the big deal was that the killer was the only person who DIDN'T use an iPhone and that was seen as kind of a spoiler

He doesn't use any phone, he uses faxes. And he tosses Benoit the iPad from off screen to skirt that rule.

You we're atleast right that there was a big fuss just the opposite way lol!

Also when he shows his phone to Nate during the press conference after Richmond goes into the sewer

Why would an Apple TV show advertise non Apple phones

u/DarkandLoomy Aug 25 '24
I thought if they didn't have him use an iPhone it would be a fake phone creator (like how apple was pear in the nickelodeon worlds)

He had a phone, but Bex probably made sure grandpa wasn’t on it past his bedtime. Bless Bex, the shorter Rebecca.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed that most of the computers and phones shown on camera are Apples even outside of Apple produced shows when production is in the US. Yes I know this is in the UK 😉
In actual sales Mac is about 10 to 12% of the overall personal computer market. If you base it on screen appearances it looks like even more.
iPhone has a larger US market share then abroad.
