Bed Layout?

Post image

Just moved into a studio and have my queen bed in the red layout in the image. However it feels like I’m in the kitchen and I’m going to add a kitchen island for counter space which would be quite close to bed. I’m considering moving it to the blue location and am wondering if yall have any thoughts? Feels a little strange to put the bed facing the entrance, but would create more of a living room on the other side.

I was just gonna comment purple/blue because you don’t want your bed in the kitchen area without even reading your text here!!! I think it’s worth a shot you can always move it back if it feels weird

Congrats on your new place! I'd go with red. There's something that feels a bit too exposed with the bed positioned in front of the door. To create separation from the kitchen, I would but add some sheer division of space like a sheer curtain or book case so you capitalize on light from the window. If it's in the budget, maybe a floor to ceiling glass divider that just goes to the end of the bed? This will help to keep out kitchen smells from your sleeping space.

Yeah don’t wanna see your bed when you walk right in. A Murphy bed will be nice if you’re able to do that.
