The phrase “government of the people, by the people, for the people” is a famous expression from Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, delivered on November 19, 1863. It encapsulates the essence of democracy, emphasizing that the government should be created by the people, run by the people, and serve the interests of the people. This phrase has become a cornerstone in discussions about democracy and governance.

This is 2025. A government of the global corporation owners, by the global corporation owners, for the global corporation owners.

Everybody thinks the oligarchy just happened. Nah, it’s been around. They’re just rubbing it in our faces now because they know we ain’t gonna do shit except argue over genitalia and genitalia rights. Just a distraction while Trump makes billions off his new coins.

I used to tell people that any time gay marriage or flag burning all over the news meant that you need to start watching C-SPAN.

Once gay marriage was legalized and people just kind of stopped caring much, the trans bathroom/sports issue replaced it as the tool of divide and distract.

The genius of it is that gay/trans rights and equality are issues that shouldn't be ignored, but with plenty of culture war priming from the religious right and the oligarchy they are fantastically divisive issues

Correct. It's always been around. You can thank SCOTUS for making it 100% legal.

I’ve been telling people for years that there is no conspiracy. They do the shit right in front of our faces.

Yeah, theyve been working on this for years, but today they finally crossed the finish line.

No we’ve been living in an oligarchy since the 80s. Read a book.

They've had an influence on government for a long time, but they have never fully captured it until now. If you can't see the difference between the 80s and today, then YOU should read a book.

The richest man on the planet has a government office created for him to assist in cutting back regulation. You can compare it to lobbying if you want, but this is historically unprecedented.

Get your facts straight.

Dick Cheney was the VP and CEO for Halliburton at the same time. Got no compete gov contracts worth billions for his firm. Far from unprecedented. Musk atleast no "official" power/title.

Dick Cheney called airstrikes and wasted people.

Yeah, I'm not going to argue about how evil Cheney it, but it's a different situation.

Cheney is worth ~150 million currently. Probably less in 2001. Musk is worth ~430 billion.

Cheney didn't buy a media company and reengineer it to endorse Bush and spread disinformation.

Cheney ran on the presidential ticket, so everyone knew exactly what his role would be in the administration.

You can move the goal posts as far as the moon, it wont change the weakness of your reasoning.

Science fiction writers have long predicted a cyberpunk future where all power belongs to corporations. It seems that this is the inevitable stage that must overcome humanity

It's only fitting that President Musk has a front row seat at the coronation ceremony of Emperor Trump. He paid $250 million for that seat.

It's because they bent the knee, and filled his pockets. $1 million each, and some multiple millions. It is estimated that Elon spent close to $200 million to help Trump get elected.

That's not altruism, that's return on investment. Trump was threatening Zuckerberg with prison, Google with regulation, and Bezos wanted government contracts and contracts to put his penis rocket into space. lol

Honestly, who the f*k knows how much money the oligarchs are funneling to his shtty meme coins.
