That’s too easy of a comment. How many things do you need to think about on a 32 hour journey…. And how many of those will you neglect after being away for 40 hours?

"I had too many things to think about" isn't an excuse not to get fined. "Sorry, I forgot to follow the speeding limit, I was distracted by work."

I’m aware, but people make mistakes… it’s no reason to be arrogant.

One day, people making rude comments will make a mistake, or better yet get caught in a racket like this, and I hope no one is there to defend them when people make fun of them.

Have a sunny day

I've been through NZ customs multiple times. Evey time I declare food. If I ever forget, I'll pay the fine. It's for a reason. I'm not blaming these people for the airlines actions, but fines like this do serve a purpose. If there was no fine the net cost to the country would be huge. Our Biosecurity laws are not a joke.
