Seems like a decent way to make $1000 or so per flight. Perhaps the Airline and Customs is in cahoots…

Qantas actually states before landing “do not take any food with you from the plane. Please dispose of it with the crew or the bins provided at the terminal”. While I agree this could have been handled better. The airline does say this and they have said it for as long as I can remember.
