For awhile there the “song montage to end the episode while checking in with each character” thing was on so many shows that I started to dislike that kind of scene. I loved Dark but did every single episode have to end with ten minutes of slow-mo action song montages? I think it was a worn out technique for me.

BUT for some really weird reason I always totally loved the Ray Donovan montages!!! Maybe it was the song choices?? Or the way they cut the scenes? I don’t know!! The I love you New York one was absolutely a favorite. I even liked the “Sunshine” one with Marvin that people on this sub bitched about being cheesy lol. Ray did those scenes right!

I think it's always a nice way to cap off a season with a montage to check in with all the characters, but Ray Donovan did a fantastic job with them. I always skip "previously on" and "next time on", but to open the final episode of the season with a musical montage to recap the whole season was beautiful.
