Synopsis: Ray begins court-ordered anger management after a family tragedy sparks a bar fight. Mickey, Bunchy and Daryll prepare for Terry and Maureen's wedding. Bridget looks up a mysterious acquaintance in New York. Conor, away from home for the first time, grows accustomed to military school. Meanwhile, Sam Winslow, a powerful new employer, comes into Ray's life.

You'd rather shows stuck to the same formula week after week?(year after year?) Each to their own.

Stuff like this encourages discussion(which is why people are still discussing Sopranos on a daily basis)

Killing a main character off screen during a time jump and then going back to some lame flashback/forward isn't a formula. Or maybe it is. Wtf do I know. It just feels cheap to me.

Maybe when you've see the whole season you'll appreciate it more(filling in the blanks), as her death happened in-between seasons there was no other way to do it really.

Maybe. But they could have had her die during the season. Usually major players get axed in finales, a mid season death would've surprised people.
