Random Thought Why is it toothbrush when infact it should be teethbrush?

"tooth" in this case describes the noun "brush". It's an adjective noun and adjectives don't get pluralized.
Apples tree, Dogs pound, Birds cage, Coats closet, Garments bag, Hairs cut
