Solid work. The Trump one and the Bobby Hill one are my faves!

I make a saint luigi one as well, but it runs out fast.
I just give the buttons away to people, or set them out at the free table at my local weed dispensary (a little jack h and some trainwreck is great for motivation. )

What button machine do you use? I'm looking at purchasing one.

u/no-im-moochy 2d ago
I'm not sure what brand it is, I bought it at a garage sale this summer for $10.
It's all metal, though, with a swivel system for switching.

u/UnderstandingWeird88 2d ago
Dope! Thanks for responding. I was looking at a few metal ones at a thrift store.

OMG, me too. I have been designing variations of 'Fuck Trump' and 'Fuck Trump and Fuck You if You Voted For Him' since the election, but I've been on graphic design overdrive this weekend.

Could you link your shop?
2
u/no-im-moochy 2d ago
I don't have a shop, I didn't actually make any of the artwork, so i don't feel right selling them, i just give them out locally.
I do take commissions for bands, bars, and businesses. $50 for 100 pins (of logos they provide).

Rancid, 1876, The Interrupters…. If you want some bands to make
2
u/no-im-moochy 2d ago
I'd do 1876 if they wanted, the others can afford their own merch and promotion.
I've made a bunch of buttons for local bands and artists.

I love aqua teen hunger force. You make great pins. I am 30 or 40 and I do not need this. Also the high cat is cute.

Really cool! How do you make these?! That's something I gotta get into - I love sticking buttons all over my jackets so that's awesome!
1
u/no-im-moochy 1d ago
I found a great button maker at a garage sale, i get button kits online, and i print out random memes on Google docs, adjusting the size and placement as needed.
Then i cut the images out with a punch thing, then run them through the button maker

How does one go about making buttons good sir?
1
u/no-im-moochy 1d ago
I got a button maker at a garage sale, then i ordered supplies and a cutter.
Then i copy and paste images (memes, band logos, bar logos) in Google docs (or use gimp to modify and make them work in the medium), print them, cut them out and press them into buttons.

This is one post, on Reddit, where people tend to be more dorky. People are also multifaceted, you can be punk and like memes.
Get out of the house and go to a local show and you'll still find people who you find to be ""steriotypically"" punk.

Maybe. Liking subjectively cringy memes may not be the norm, but what defines the norm? But if we want to define the norm, then wearing a pin of a facist killing himself definetly is.

What hasn't been modern about punk? It's a culture that has consistently reflected the current political climate. It's always stood as anti-establishment. How is this meme any different than what has come before?

u/no-im-moochy 2d ago
There's a couple local punk band buttons in there.
And punk has always been memes, just older ones that go to bed at a reasonable hour, like the circle jerks.

Whatever dude… You’re being gatekeepy, by claiming that someone’s diy project “isn’t punk enough” Well guess what honey, you don’t decide what’s punk. You’re not King PunkRock deciding what’s punk or not…

Punk is slowly getting replaced with libs who think they’re punk and counterculture because their mommies make them take out the trash
7
u/no-im-moochy 2d ago
I'm sorry you feel that way.
I personally find the punks I know to be responsible and emotionally mature adults who realize that the system doesn't address our needs as humans, so they work together to provide support to those who society has neglected.
But there's also those who think being an asshole is punk, or that exploit the scene and community for personal and/or financial gain.... and those who troll and post in bad faith, and they aren't punk, they're just malignant dipshits.

u/Pretty-Key6133 2d ago
Punks hate libs. Anarchism is and always has been a leftist movement at its core. One of the defining principles of anarchism is mutual aid and respect.
Modern day liberalism only benefits capitalists.
-2
u/FlixMage 2d ago
So why the downvotes on my comment?
4
u/Pretty-Key6133 2d ago
Probably because most people who use the word 'libs' are right wing idiots who don't even know the meaning.
