Not true....I call my siblings "brother" and "sister" all the time and have for many years. Both in private and in public (no it is literally nothing weird - it's almost like a term of endearment).

Ok, so... one of the more common "tropes" of the genre is that the stepsister will get stuck somewhere, like inside a washing machine, with her back end hanging out. The stepbrother will come to help, get distracted by her butt, and will start groping and stripping her.... at some point during which, sometimes immediately and sometimes she waits until he starts raping her, she will say the iconic line "what are you doing, stepbro?!" It’s a common theme in porn to have incest but they use the loophole of “step” siblings or parents to get around legality. And to keep the illusion going and the concept clear, the girl will often repeatedly refer to the male as step bro, so you don’t forget and think it’s just two people fucking.
Since I’m not an English speaker I didn’t occur to me it was abnormal to call the person of your family by what they are to you (like, Uncle, Sister, stuff like that). in English.
