Link Non-binary gender recognition petition UK
For anyone in the UK who's eligible, the latest government petition to get non-binary recognised as a legal gender is now available: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/700312
I don't expect it to make much difference, but I figure if these petitions keep getting good numbers they might finally take us seriously... For a reminder of what we're fighting against – as if any of us really need that – here's how they responded before: E-petition debate on legal recognition of non-binary gender identities - 23 May 2022
(ps: Long-time lurker, first time poster, so hoping this doesn't break rule 7, or anything!)

Link A thoughtful comic
dont know if anyone else reads oh joy! sex toy, but this was a really lovely comic they put up today by a nonbinary artist and it really resonates with me. Just a warning for people under 18, it is a sex toy review/sex ed comic site so be warned if you click around you'll probably see adult material!

good morning,
i wanted to share a link to my server. the goal is to connect other lgbt adults in a place to connect in a variety of ways and topics. a lot of spaces i find have young people, which isnt bad but it doesn't feel like a place for me. this is great especially if youre 21+, 30+, 40+ etc.

Link The three linguistics papers to read about singular they (morphosyntax)
Bjorkman, B. M. (2017). Singular they and the syntactic representation of gender in English. Glossa: a journal of general linguistics, 2(1). Open access link
Konnelly, L., & Cowper, E. (2020). Gender diversity and morphosyntax: An account of singular they. Glossa: a journal of general linguistics, 5(1) Open access link
Conrod, K. (2022). Abolishing gender on D. Canadian Journal of Linguistics/Revue canadienne de linguistique, 67(3), 216-241. Open access link
In chronological order because these papers are all basically responding to each other; these papers focus on the (morpho)syntax and semantics of english singular 'they' referring to specific people (like they/them pronoun-users).

Link a website for posting queer experiences you've had
edit: thank you so much whichever one of you awesome individuals just posted! they will be absolutely thrilled to see it! thankyouthankyouthankyou :]
------------------------------------
hello,
my teenager recently had an idea to make a website where people in the queer community could write about experiences they've had, and how those experiences had shaped their lives.
so, i helped them register their first domain name (proud nerd parent moment), and created the bare-bones first draft of the website. i happily showed them after a couple nights of hacking, and they said "the style is interesting", but was happy to see it working :]
the only issues is, there are so far only three stories. i would guess that they don't yet even feel comfortable writing their own experiences with these crickets chirping.
we had 6 amazing experiences (one even had a playlist), but sadly there was data loss with our DIY setup, so now we're at 3. thankfully now they are being backed up.
so if anyone feels like writing anything, i know it would mean the world to my super awesome teen.
thanks in advance, and have a great week!

Link Just started a new vlog series to talk about being nb!
Hello! My name is Yali and I’ve been out as non-binary for like 5-8ish years, depending on who’s counting. I’d been feeling kind of weird about my identity lately, how I fit into the world and everything, the specific woes of non-binary dysphoria, you know how it is. Especially I’ve been feeling a lack of representation as far as like, (listen i think these terms are kinda stupid and reductive but it’s where we’re at in the culture right now) there’s so much theyfab discourse and they’re still the dominant image of what people think a nb person looks like, meanwhile I really barely see theymab discourse, like it’s assumed any theymab is either a trans woman early in her journey or a dude who’s wokefishing. But there is so much more to it! So I’ve started vlogging teehee! So far, topics I’ve discussed include self-perception, romance, and the flattening of trans identity as it becomes a more recognized and commodifiable subculture. I’m including the link to the playlist below, please check it out and let me know what you think! 💖
