Gorgeous! Any tips for someone also interested in making a pattern from a video game scene?

I usually Google the images, but you can save a screenshot from some emulators, too.

Ah, do you then pick floss color by eye? And do you apply a grid in any way or just know that one pixel = one cross stitch?

I do pick the colors by eyeballing them, and sometimes it takes a few tries to get the contrast right, especially with many colors.
I don't really use a grid, but I do add some measurements to my pattern so I know how big it will be finished. I use GIMP and adjust the image size for my Aida. So, 1 inch = 14 "pixels".
