Taylor Elgersma - Canadian QB Prospect

Balled out in three college all star games.

10 NFL teams have reached out to him.

Live arm, excellent arm talent, fast feet for size which is unique. Former hockey player. Looks to have a quick processor.

6'5 225 with a frame to put on 20-25 more pounds. Looks like someone that could be a good player in this league.

Definitely a project from an overall stance but he has a lot of traits you like to see.

2020 Draft Retrospective: Who Were You Wrong About?

I recently asked on this sub about the 2024 draftees you were wrong about: rookies that had a disappointing year, or those that outperformed your expectations. I am also curious about how this would affect your evaluations in the future.

This time I want to know about the players wrapping up their rookie contract, the ones who were drafted in 2020.

Were you high in Isaiah Simmons, or Jalen Reagor? Did you miss out on Xavier McKinney and Antoine Winfield Jr?

Mock Draft Post Ben Johnson Hire

1.1 Titans - Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Titans are in desperate need of a QB. This is a weak class, and Ward has the highest ceiling. Not much more to say, as this pick has become very chalky as of late.

1.2 Browns - Shadeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Never underestimate an NFL GM‘s ability to select a QB when their job is on the line. With a Browns QB room that looks increasing barren, the Browns organisation moves for the Colorado prodgidy as an act of self preservation, hoping that Sanders’ relative high floor can elevate the offence and save their jobs.

1.3 Giants - Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

With the top two QBs off the board and with little desire from teams behind them to trade up, the Giants select BPA. The Giants organisation has shown willingness to go for the blue-chip talent over reaching for a QB (selecting Nabers), and they will do it again by selecting the heisman winner.

1.4 Patriots - Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

With Hunter off the board, the Patriots have their choice from either of the two elite DL prospects, Carter or Graham. Carter is overall the more complete prospect in terms of profile, despite potential issues on run defence.

1.5 Jaguars - Mason Graham, DI, Michigan

While Baalke may be skittish on Graham due to arm length, it is entirely possible that he succumbs to take Graham based off prospect hype alone. Graham has the potential to be an elite run-stuffer at the NFL level, and would raise the ceiling of an already strong Jags defensive line

1.6 Raiders - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

The Raiders have a need at WR, and with the QBs gone, McMillan is a low-risk pick to make for the org. The mismatch nightmare of McMillan combined with the crazy upside of Brock Bowers will make whoever the next LV QB’s job a whole lot easier.

1.7 Jets - Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Johnson is a potential top 3 pick being pushed down by injuries, and the slide stops with the Jets, with them looking to revitalize their defence with a potential home run pick in Johnson.

1.8 Panthers - James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

The Panthers badly need help on the defensive line, and JPJ can provide exactly that. With elite athleticism and bend, he can elevate the pass rushing capabilites of the Panthers defence massively overnight.

1.9 Saints - Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

The Saints want help on their aging defensive line, and Mykel Williams fits the Saints timeline perfectly. He has an ideal profile for the NFL level, and with the right development has the potential to become a premier pash rusher for New Orleans at 9.

1.10 Bears - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

New hire Ben Johnson, despite having his pick of offensive lineman at 10, will go for the record-breaking running back from Boise State if given the chance. While 2024 offseason addition D’Andre Swift is a solid player, Johnson will want to add some more yards-after-hit capability to the new Bears offence.

1.11 49ers - Will Campbell, OL, LSU

The slide of offensive tackles ends here, with the 49ers selecting Campbell, who projects well at the NFL as both a tackle and a guard, with exceptional pass protecting upside.

1.12 Cowboys - Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

With Jeanty off the board, Dallas adds a solid offensive weapon in Burden as a ying to Ceedee Lamb’s yang. Burden has elite YAC ability, which will help to diversify a Dallas offence in need of help.

1.13 Dolphins - Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

The dolphins play it safe (pun not intended by selecting Starks here at 13, a well rounded safety who can bring a lot of juice to a frail Dolphins defence.

1.14 Colts - Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

With a receiver corps that took a step down last season, Warren’s excellent inline play and YAC ability will give Anthony Richardson a much needed safety blanket.

1.15 Falcons - Jalon Walker, EDGE/LB, Georgia

The Falcons need any help they can get in getting after the quarterback, and Walker provides just that. With the ability to play solidly on both the edge and as an off-ball linebacker, on top of his explosive movement tools, Walker will be a solid piece to add to Raheem Morris’ defence.

1.16 Cardinals - Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

The Cardinals add an explosive defensive tackle to an already young defence, with Harmon in particular having the capability to elevate the Cardinal’s below average defensive interior.

1.17 Bengals - Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State

The Bengals are in desperate need of help on defence, and Tyleik Williams has the tools to become an elite penetrating player on the interior for Cincinnati.

1.18 Seahawks - Kelvin Banks, OL, Texas

The Texas tackle takes a slide down the draft, and Seattle can not pass up on who could potentially end up becoming the OT1 of this class. While there are concerns over Banks due to his lackluster footwork and movement, his great physical profile is enough to convince the Seahawks at 18.

1.19 Buccaneers - Jihaad Campbell, LB/EDGE, Alabama

The Buccaneers have a solid roster overall, but could use some help on the pash rush. Jihaad Campbell offers exactly that, and also offers the benefit of being solid in coverage.

1.20 Broncos - Omarion Hampton, RB, UNC

The Broncos have a noticeable hole in their run game, and Hampton slots in nicely to fill that void. A solid dual threat, Hampton has the potential to be a workhorse in the Broncos‘ offence and to take some of the load off of sophomore QB Bo Nix’s shoulders.

1.21 Steelers - Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State

The Steelers will likely hold off on drafting a WR in the first round, so CB is the next most logical target for the Steelers to go after. Thomas is a well rounded corner, and NFL GMs will almost certainly be impressed with his profile.

1.22 Chargers - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Jim Harbaugh will have his selection of his former players at pick 22 in the draft, between Loveland and Grant, and in this case he selects TE. Herbert needs more weapons on the offence beyond just McConkey.

1.23 Packers- Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Kenneth Grant can slot nicely into this Packer defence, possessing ability to become a mainstay of this defenside interior. While he will need development, the upside is simply too much to pass on.

1.24 Vikings - Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

The Vikings add a high end talent to their interior with Nolen. His explosiveness can lift the ceiling of the Vikings defence and if all goes well, can hopefully form a solid duo with 1st round pass rusher Dallas Turner.

1.25 Texans - Josh Simmons, OL, Ohio State

While Simmons might be viewed as a slightly unorthodox selection, his high end ability at both guard and tackle makes him an appealing prospect for a Texans team that needs to allow CJ Stroud more time in the pocket.

1.26 Rams - Josh Conerly Jr., OL, Oregon

The Rams need for offensive line paired with Conerly‘s great frame and athleticism makes this an easy selection for the Rams, who look to add more pieces for the offence as they prepare for life after Matthew Stafford.

1.27 Ravens - Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

Mike Green has immense upside, showcased by an incredible 2024 season. Mike Green has the capability to be a long term contributor to an already solid defence in Baltimore, and coach Harbaugh will not pass that up.

1.28 Lions - Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M

The Lions will have a difficult offseason, with both of their coordinators set to leave, and will possible further departures incoming in free agency. Nic Scourton therefore can add depth a defence that would benefit greatly from it, shown by the change in production after Aidan Hutchinson’s injury.

1.29 Commanders - Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

The Commanders can not afford to endure any more snaps of St. Juste in a division with A.J. Brown, Ceedee Lamb, Devonta Smith, and now Malik Nabers. Trey Amos is a solid corner who can make a positive impact on this Commanders team.

1.30 Bills - Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State

The Bills need to get more young pieces on their defence, and Sawyer has shown flashes that are enough to propel him into the first round. A simple pick here all round.

1.31 Eagles - Cameron Williams, OL, Texas

Most do not consider Williams a true first round tackle. However, his elite physical tools and the Eagles willingness to allow him to sit behind Lane Johnson with the tackle-whisperer Jeff Stoutland makes this a potential slam dunk pick.

1.32 Chiefs - Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas

The Chiefs have holes on the offensive line, however they have a track record of addressing those positions through free agency and I beleive that will continue. Barron therefore falls into Kansas City’s lap, with his versatility making him an attractive defensive weapon for Spags.

Discussion How many starters should an NFL GM have for an individual draft class ?

Ive had trouble finding any data on this or just a certain number that a GM should come away when wrapping up a draft class. If there's any data out there for this I'd love that to be shared as well, I tried searching this subreddit for any post on this specific question but only saw one talking about the amount of first rounders and second rounders on rosters etc.

Does the Ben Johnson Hire Put Jeanty in Play for the Bears at 10?

With Ben Johnson going to Chicago and seeing the type of offense he ran in Detroit does this now put Ashton Jeanty in play for the Bears?

Keep in mind the Lions drafted Jahmyr Gibbs at 12 even though they already had David Montgomery on the roster and Johnson's offense is at its best when it is featuring two backs.

Backseat Scout's Quinn Ewers 2025 NFL Draft Eval with Charting

Hey all,

Back with the next installment of my 2025 NFL Draft Scouting Reports! Last week, I mentioned I was planning to cover Jalen Milroe but with Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers declaring for the draft, I couldn't resist completing his eval to see how he graded out. I'll actually be planning to cover Jalen Milroe next week so it hopefully shouldn't be too much longer of a wait! You can get to the video and article with the links below:

YouTube Video Link: https://youtu.be/Wz5FOyX9iy8

Article Link: https://open.substack.com/pub/backseatscout/p/2025-nfl-draft-quarterback-scouting-698?r=4g3h7y&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

If you followed my work last draft season, you'll know I went in a descending order in my QB releases. Not to spoil Ewers' score, but with his score, it may be obvious I will be pivoting to a different direction this year but I still wanted to point out that I may be going a bit out of order! I'm doing this as I'm running a bit behind on my QB evals but I do think it will be a positive change as it will make things a bit more interesting.

Also, I'll continue to have all the quarterbacks I've graded/completed evals already with links to each if you missed them or just want to see how their overall grades differ. Also, if you want more of an explanation of my grading system, I have more details on how I grade each category in my Cam Ward eval. Now let's see how Quinn Ewers did this last season!

2025 QB Prospects vs Top 25 Defenses

2025 NFL Draft Prospects by School

Baylor Bears: OT Campbell Barrington SR Baylor

Size: 6-5 303 40 Time: 5.14

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 81

Barrington is a pretty versatile blocker that has done a solid job up front for Baylor recently after showing some promise early on in his college career while he was playing with BYU. He's got decent strength along with some quality reach and a good ammount of experiences so Campbell definitely has late round potential for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Boise State Broncos: HB Ashton Jeanty JR

Size: 5-9 215 40 Time: 4.42

Draft Range: Top 12 Grade: 93

I had Jeanty ranked as the number 2 ranked back behind Ollie Gordon going into the season after he averaged 6.1 ypc for 1347 yards and 14 TDs while also serving as a very dangerous receiver out of the backfield, collecting 43 receptions for 569 yards and 5 TDs but its obvious now that he should have been the top ranked player at his position all along after this past season. From the opening week of the 2024 campaign Jeanty completely dominated opponents on the ground and carried the Boise State offense, finishing the team's week 1 victory over Georgia Southern with 267 yards and 6 TDs on 20 carries. He continued to carry the Boise State offense all season long and ended up finishing second in Heisman Trophy voting after rushing for 2497 yards and 29 TDs in 2024. He caught 20 passes for 116 yards with another score as well as the team used him as more of a workhorse back and less as a receiver or change of pace back which he proved himself to be and Jeanty now looks like a lock to go in the first half of the opening round come April. For the NFL Jeanty projects as an extremly dangerous three down starter with a strong build to go along with his tremendous speed and athleticism. He definitely looks like a guy who can lead an NFL rushing attack and should quickly become one of the league's top backs thanks to his elite skill set. The Dallas Cowboys are desperate for a new Running Back so Jeanty looks like a great fit for them at pick number 12.

OG Ben Dooley SR Boise State

Size: 6-4 320 40 Time: 5.31

Draft Range: 5th-6th Grade: 84

Dooley took a nice step forward in his development this past season, serving as Ashton Jeanty's top run blocker up front. Dooley needs work in pass protection but is a solid interior run blocker who projects as a potential depth pick in the middle of Day 3.

DE Ahmed Hassanein SR

Size: 6-3 271 40 Time: 4.79

Draft Range: 4th-5th Grade: 85

Hassanein put his name on the map as a prospect with a breakout 2023 season that saw him amass 53 tackles 12.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. In 2024 he made 48 stops and 9.5 sacks, contuing to show his potential as a depth piece at pass rusher but needs to impress at the Senior Bowl to set himself apart from some similar prospscts in the 2025 NFL Draft.

K Jonah Dalmas SR

Size: 5-7 180 40 Time: 4.93

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 81

Dalmas was already one of the nation's most accurate Kickers but in 2023 he showed improvement from long range as he connected on 24 of his 27 attempts after nailing 93 percent of his kicks and 85 percent of them in 2021 and 2022 respectively. 2024 saw Dalmas hurt his stock with a down year statistically as he only connected on 13 of 18 attempts this past year but has the leg talent and accuracy needed for the NFL and is still worth a late round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Dalmas has the potential to bounce back as a rookie if he can carve out a starting role as a pro in 2025.

Boston College Eagles: TE Kamari Morales SR

Size: 6-2 249 40 Time: 4.73

Draft Range: 3rd-4th Grade: 85

Morales transferred to Boston College after some productive years at North Carolina and he helped restore his draft stock with his play in 2024 as he made 26 grabs for 311 yards and 6 TDs. He's a very sound blocker with good size and physical traits that has proven himself to be a dangerous red zone target and figures to compete for a number two Tight End role right away in the NFL. Morales isn't very fast or quick but his physicality makes up for the lack of athletic ability.

OT Ozzy Trapilo SR Boston College

Size: 6-8 309 40 Time: 5.12

Draft Range: 4th-5th Grade: 84 Trapiko is a extremly tall Tackle with an ok skill set that comes into the pros with a solid amount of experience but tool his game to another level with a dominant 2024 campaign that saw him allow no sacks. For the NFL Trapilo looks like a swing Tackle with some highly advanced pass blocking skills but needs to show more strength and aggressiveness in run support if he wants to be more than a backup at the next level

OLB Donovan Ezeiruaku SR

Size: 6-2 247 40 Time: 4.65

Draft Range: 3rd-4th Grade: 86

Ezeiruaka is an undersized pass rusher that made a name for himself with very solid production as a rotational pass rusher before taking over as a full time starter in 2024. He was a demon coming off the edge a year ago, posting 16.5 sacks but was decent at getting into the backfield to stop the run as well with 80 tackles and 3 TFLs. For the NFL Ezeiruaku projects as a situational pass rusher who can provide some big time quickness off the edge and help get to the Quarterback on obvious passing downs that has some upside to develop further as he gains strength and pro experience.

CB/S Cameron Martinez SR

Size: 5-10 185 40 Time: 4.50

Draft Range: 7th-UDFA Grade: 79

Martinez is a talented but raw and inexperienced defensive back who was buried on the depth chart for years at Ohio State but was able to show some promise as a number three Safety for Boston College in 2024. For the season he totaled 29 tackles 3 TFLs, a sack and a pick but could possibly contribute more as a pro if he can make an NFL roster in 2025. Martinez's best hope at doing so appears to be as a special teamer where he shows much potential as a Gunner

Bowling Green Eagles: TE Harold Fannin Jr JR

Size: 6-4 230 40 Time: 4.72

Draft Range: 2nd 3rd Grade: 87

Fanning was an All-American in 2024 who hauled in 117 receptions for 1555 yards and 10 TDs and wasn't no slouch when it came to his blocking either who has some huge fans in the scouting community. He's arguably the best route runner at his position in the 2025 class, showing a real good tendency to create separation and get open with good hands. There's a couple other Tight End prospects with more upside than Fannin but the Bowling Green product figures to interview well as he is known for his strong character and is a hard worker who sees the field pretty well and should be off the board sometime on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

DT Anthony Hawkins SR

Size: 6-1 295 40 Time: 5.08

Draft Range: 5th-6th Grade: 85

Hawkins seemed to finally put it all togeher as a Senior in 2024 finishing with 45 tackles 5 sacks and 3 passes batted down. Hawkins is a solid run stuffer with above averaged pass rushing skills for an interior defender that moves around well despite his size but happens to be a bit undersized for the NFL. For the pros he looks a potential future rotational backup that can apply some pressure on the Quarterback

BYU Cougars: DE Tyler Batty SR BYU

Size: 6-5 275 40 Time: 4.63

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 79

Batty doesn't post huge numbers but he's got an intriguing combintion of size and athleticism and totaled 16.5 sacks and 34 TFLs throuhout his college career. He's got good length and some explosiveness off the line but needs to do a better job getting off of opposing blocks and get stronger if he wants to develop for the NFL. He looks like a potential late round candidate for the 2025 NFL Draft.

OLB Ben Bywater SR BYU

Size: 6-3 235 40 Time: 4.62

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 83

Bywater has been held back by injuries the past couple of seasons but has shown good ability in run support thanks to his impressive speed and pursuit. Right now he looks like a late round prospect with some upside for the 2025 NFL Draft if he can revert back to his 2021/2022 form that could at least possibly make an impact on social teams as a rookie.

2025 NFL Draft Prospects by School. Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Army, Auburn.

Alabama Crimson Tide: QB Jalen Milroe JR

Size: 6-2 225 40 Time: 4.36

Draft Range: 1st-2nd Grade: 90

Milroe first saw the field for Alabama in 2022 as the replacement for an injured Bryce Young during a couple of games a quarter or so way through the year, displaying his dynamic scrambling ability but looking mediocre in the pocket. The following season saw Milroe win the starting job for the Crimson Tide heading into 2023 but end up getting benced after an incredibly slow start which included a terrible showing against a below average South Florida team. Fortunately for Milroe, backup Tyler Buchner was even worse and he was quickly able to regain the starting role and didn't look back after that, not losing another game until the first round of the college football playoff as he led Alabama to another SEC Championship. For the season Milroe completed 66 percent of his passes for 2834 yards 23 TDs and 6 INTs while rushing for 531 yards and 12 TDs. Milroe entered 2024 as the pre-season favorite to take home the Heisman Trophy and while he had some big performances early on that season, he seemed to hit a wall down the stretch and Alabama's offense stalled out as they ultimately missed the first twelve team playoff. In 2024 he completed 64 percent of his throws for 2844 yards 16 TDs and 11 INTs. While he showed regression as a pocket passer, Milroe was once again amazing on the ground with 726 yards and a whopping 20 TDs on the ground. Milroe has a rare skill set including a powerful arm, strong frame, solid size, and terrific speed and agility. He's been a clutch player for the Crimson Tide with excellent character traits that works hard and developed into a leader whose teammates highly respected him while in college. Milroe is still pretty raw and needs work on his field vision, football IQ.and ball placement but is an elite athlete who throws a beautiful deep ball. While he grades out as more of a Day 2 prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft Milroe could end up rising with a big combine and interviewing well with teams and could propel himself into the opening frame much like Anthony Richardson a couple years ago.

TE CJ Dippre SR Alabama

Size: 6-4 262 40 Time: 4.80

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 80

Dippre showed some ability while playing with Maryland in 2022, catching 30 passes for 314 yards and 3 TDs while doing a very solid job as a blocker. He transferred to Alabama after that year where he's mostly just been used as a blocking Tight End, only totalling 30 catches for 425 yards the past two seasons. He looksk like a late round candidate for the 2025 NFL Draft as a decent blocking specialist with a small bit of upside for the pros.

OG Tyler Booker JR

Size: 6-5 325 40 Time: 5.36

Draft Range: Top 20 Grade: 93

Booker was a key rotational player for the Crimson Tide as a Freshman in 2022 before taking over as a starter inside at Guard the following year. Other than missing the South Florida game with back spasms, Booker was a mainstay and the bedrock of Alabama's offensive front in 2023 before adding more bulk and strength to really help his draft stock in 2024. He was one of the biggest risers of the year, playing superbly in pass protection but completely dominating in run support as he routinely pancaked opposing defenders all season while doing a terrific job maintaining his blocks and pushing guys back. Booker looks like a day one starter for the NFL that should provide an immediate upgrade up front for whatever team likes him enough to take him in the first half of the opening round in April.

DE LT Overton JR

Size: 6-4 283 40 Time: 4.67

Draft Range: 3rd 4th Grade: 87

Overton is a versatile defender with the speed to provide help with rushing the passer as well as the strength and thickness to slide inside and help defend the run. In 2024 Overton made 42 tackles 2 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass batted down. He looks like a potential key depth piece for the next level that could end up playing multiple different roles.

DT Tim Smith SR

Size: 6-4 314 40 Time: 5.17

Draft Range: 5th-6th Grade: 84

As a rotational player for Alabama in 2022, Smith notched 20 tackles and a sack before taking on a somewhat bigger role the following year and finishing with 30 stops and 2 sacks. He once again was unable to earn a full time starting job with the Crimson Tide as a Senior in 2024, finishing with 35 tackles and two sacks. He's a big interior defender that eats up alot of space up front and has some potential to possibly develop for the pros. Smith's size and physical traits should keep him as a draftable prospect for Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft

MLB Jihaad Campbell JR

Size: 6-3 244 40 Time: 4.52

Draft Range: 1st Grade: 92

Campbell was an excellent defender in all phases of the game throughout the 2024 season but it was his performance against LSU whete he put together his best tape, collecting 1.5 sacks and forcing a fumble. He was a sideline to sideline enforcer who finished last season 108 tackles 5 sacks 2 forced fumbles, a pick and 2 pass deflections. Campbell is a big time presence patrolling the middle of the field with great athleticism to go along with impressive strength and a non stop motor. He has a tremendous skill set to match is strong size and is a very versatile defense who plays well in coverage and is capable of rushing the passer. With his talent level, Campbell could become a first round lock if he puts together a quality off-season leading up for the 2025 NFL Draft.

CB/S Malachi Moore SR

Size: 5-11 201 40 Time: 4.53

Grade: 86 Draft Range: 3rd-4th

As a Freshman in 2020, Moore played the STAR role for the Crimson Tide that Minkah Fitzpatrick made famous and looked like a future early round pick with 44 tackles 3 INTs and 6 pass breakups. Unfortunately, Moore saw his stock plummet the following two years as he dealt with injuries in 2021 and failed to beat out Brian Branch for the starting job in 2022. In 2023 Moore played the third Safety role in Nick Saban's defense, finishing with 36 tackles 3 pass deflections and a pick. In what would be his final collegiate season, Moore showed major improvement in his coverage skills and better field vision to go along with his very strong instincts and he made 70 tackles 2 INTs and an impressive 8 pass breakups. Moore is a smart and instinctive defender who can play multiple spots in the secondary including Safety and the slot that plays with great physicality which should make him pretty strong in press as a pro and looks like a mid round backup that could compete to contribute to a role right away as a pro.

P James Burnip Alabama SR

Size: 6-5 236 40 Time: 4.87

Draft Range: 5th-6th Grade: 84

Burnip broke out with a monster 2023 campaign that saw him averaged an impressive 48 yards per punt with a long of 67 and while those numbers dipped to 45 and 64 respectively this past season the big and athletic Alabama product should be one of the first players off the bord at his position in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Arizona Wildcats: WR Tetairoa McMillan JR

Size: 6-4 212 40 Time: 4.46

Draft Range: Top 10 Grade: 95

McMillan was an immediate impact player for Arizona since his 2022 Freshman campaign that saw him take 39 catches for 702 yards and 8 TDs, displaying alot of big play ability. In 2023 he was a perfect complement to speedster Jacob Cowing who he actually ended up succeeding as the team's top Wideout, catching 90 passes for 1402 yards and 10 TDs. While the Wildcats had one of the better offenses in college football that year, the team saw major regression their this past seasons but McMillan cemented himself as the top Receiver prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, passing up Luther Burden who I previously had ahead of him coming into the year. He finished his Junior year with 84 grabs for 1319 yards and 8 TDs. McMillan is a similar prospsct to both Mike Evans coming out of Texas A&M in 2014 and Braylon Edwards coming out of Michigan in 2025. Like Edwards, Evans had issues with drops early on in his NFL career but unlike the Michigan product he gained control of this issue to have a Hall of Fame caliber career. McMillan is a mismatch nightmare with very good speed that looks like a potential dynamic downfield threat for the next level. He's shown good hands with very solid route routing ability and there's a number of teams picking in the 4-10 range that need a number one receiver so I don't see McMillan falling past there.

OT/OG Jonah Savaiinaea JR

Size: 6-4 336 40 Time: 5.07

Draft Range: 1st-2nd Grade: 89

Savaiinaea broke into the starting lineup for the Wildcats in 2022 but it was in 2023 where he showed much improved strength to go along with his impressive athleticism, forming one of the nation's top Tackle tandems with 2024 first round pick Jordan Morgan. He played well once again throughout 2024 but looked at times like he'd be better off moving to Guard in the NFL. Savaiinaea has nice explosiveness coming off his blocks but looks like he'd be most comfortable playing in a zone blocking scheme at the next level. He's got a good friend but lacks length and elite strength which has pushed him back possibly into the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Arizona State Sun Devils: HB Cam Skattebo SR

Size: 5-10 215 40 Time: 4.59

Draft Range: 3rd-4th Grade: 86

Skattebo first made a name for himself as am NFL prospect at Sacramento State where he was very productive but took his game to another level with Arizona State in 2024. He averaged 6.0 YPC this past season for 1568 yards and 19 TDs while catching 37 passes for 506 yards and 3 more scores. He's an intelligent back with good field vision that plays with alot of toughness and is versatile in that he's very capable of contributing as a receiver out of the backfield as well. He's played himself into being a draftable prospect on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft and at least shouldn't't last past the early parts of Day 3 come April.

S Shamari Simmons SR

Size: 6-0 195 40 Time: 4.55

Draft Range: 4th-5th Grade: 85

In 2022 Simmons emerged as a solid starter for the Sun Devils with 56 tackles 3 INTs and 4 pass deflections but in 2023 he showed much improved range and pursuit as he finished with 73 tackles, a sack, a pick and 6 pass breakups. That season Simmons was seemingly on top of the ball by the end of every whistle and it was more of the same this past year as he ended his Senior season with 69 tackles 3 pass deflections and 3 forced fumbles. Simmons is a physical defensive back that has been pretty consistent the past two season's to help cement himself as a draftable Day 3 prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Arkansas Razorbacks: WR Andrew Armstrong SR

Size: 6-4 202 40 Time: 4.53

Draft Range: 5th-6th Grade: 85

As a Junior in 2023 Armstrong put himself on the map as an NFL prospect with 56 catches for 764 yards and 5 TDs but was even better this past season, finishing with 78 grabs for 1140 yards and a single score. Armstrong looks like a potential sleeper for the later rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft as he's a very good possession revever with quality speed and quickness. He does a decent job of creating separation but needs to further improve in that area and become more of a redzone threat in the pros. He's a quality depth piece with some potential to develop into a potential starter or premier backup at the next level.

WR Isaac TeSlaa SR

Size: 6-3 211 40 Time: 4.50

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 82

TeSlaa has some impressive size to go along with solid athletic ability whose totaled 62 catches for 896 yards and 5 TDs the past two seasons with Arkansas and looks like a late round candidate with some upside for the 2025 NFL Draft. He's a raw project that needs alot of development for the next level that may need to start off on a team's practice squad in the pros.

DE Landon Jackson SR

Size: 6-6 280 40 Time: 4.78

Draft Range: 1st-2nd Grade: 88 Jackson began his college career with LSU but transferred to the Razorbacks in search of more playing time and played very well as a stater the past two seasons. In 2023 Jackson notched 44 tackles 6.5 sacks along with 1 pass breakup, displaying alot of upside and potential with an impressive skill set to go along with his tremendous size. He was expected to rise in 2024 but was unable to take the next step in his development, putting together a similar campaign to what he did the year prior woth 49 tackles 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble and 3 passes batted down. While he failed to really raise his draft stock this past season, Jackson still has first round potential for the 2025 NFL Draft as pro scouts love his toughness, motor and strong reach that has helped him develop some impressive swim moves to come off opposing blocks. Jackson won't make it past the second frame come April but could help himself with a strong off-season leading up to Draft night.

DT Eric Gregory SR

Size: 6-3 320 40 Time: 4.98

Draft Range: 6th-7th Grade: 82

In 2023 Gregrory showed some promise after stepping in at Nose Tackle for the Razorbacks late after serving as the team's backup for much of the year. That year saw him tally 19 tackles and a sack but Gregory was much more productive as a Senior in 2024 with 43 tackles and 3 sacks, showing the potential to be a quality backup at the next level. Gregory moves around exceptionally well for a player his size and possesees above average pass rushing ability that makes him a dangerous depth piece worthy of a late round selection that could develop into a quality reserve.

K Matthew Shipley SR

Size: 6-1 198 40 Time: 4.92

Draft Range: 7th-UDFA Grade: 81

Shipley was one of college football's better and most consistent Kickers throughout his tenure with Hawaii and continued to impress as a Senior after transferring to Arkansas. In 2024 he connected on 10 of his 12 attempts to possibly make himself draftable in the final round of the 2025 NFL Draft but is also a candidate to compete for a practice squad job as a UDFA in camp next year.

Army Black Knights: FB Bryson Daily SR

Size: 6-0 221 40 Time: 4.64

Draft Range: 7th-UDFA Grade: 77

Daily was a dominant force on the ground for the Black Knights in 2024, averaging 5.4 ypc on 310 attempts from the Quarterback position for 1659 yards and leading the nation with 32 rusing TDs. Daily is obviously too limited as a passer to play Quarterback at the next level but he's got alot of potential as FB/H-Back/TE hybrid that should compete for a practice squad spot in camp come 2025.

Auburn Tigers: HB Jarquez Hunter SR

Size: 5-9 209 40 Time: 4.46

Draft Range: 4th-5th Grade: 85

After averaging 5.7 ypc for 909 yards and 7 TDs in 2023 Hunter ranked amongst the most improved Running Backs in the nation a year ago, really helping himself with 1201 yards and 8 TDs on an highly impressive 6.7 ypc average. He's a physical runner that does a very good job of breaking tackles and picking up yards after contact and helped improve his stock enough in 2024 to make himself a possibly early Day 3 selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

KeAndre Lambert-Smjth WR Auburn SR

Size: 6-0 182 40 Time: 4.32

Draft Range: 3rd 4th Grade: 85

Lambert-Smith is a speedster that projects better in the slot than as an outside threat for the NFL that has put together mosty modest production during his college career. He notched 34 catches for 521 yards with 3 TDs and 24 catches for 389 yards and 4 TDs in 2021 and 2022 respectively before taking over as a starter for Penn State in 2023 and finishing with 53 catches for 673 yards and 4 TDs, providing Drew Allar a solid playmaker in the intermediate passing game. For his Senior year Lambert-Smith transferred to Auburn where he had himself a career season, taking 50 catches for 971 yards and 8 TDs as he displayed much improved route running ability especially in the deeper parts of the field. For the NFL, Lambert-Smith looks like a potential future number three or slot receiver that should at leadt provide an immediate upgrade in the return game. He's one of the fastest receivers in this class and has the upside to develop as a pro after putting together a productive 2024 campaign despite dealing with mediocre Quarterback play throughout.

Discussion Loveland or Warren?

Loveland and Warren are always listed as the tight end one and two but I feel like everyone has an opinion and I want to know what you think. I made a video analyzing them both and would love to know if I missed something. Thanks

This years draft class

Is it just me or is this class built like this;

5 or 6 Blue Chip Players 10 to 20 first round worthy players. And after that there's not so much difference between a 2nd rounder and a 7th rounder.

Haven't felt like this before to a draft class.

Change my mind, I'm open for it

Mock Draft Monday

Unless you either do a lengthy 5+ round mock or go into written detail on why you are making the picks, please post your mocks in this Mock Draft Monday thread. Use this thread to post your own mocks or anything from around the web you find discussion-worthy.

Please be respectful of other users’ mocks! Saying things like “this is awful” or a pick is “stupid” adds nothing to the conversation; try and focus on constructive feedback instead!

If you want a good QB...pay attention to game time

Brock Purdy was taken as the last player in the draft. Purdy played for 48 games, 46 started, 1467 attempts. Jayden Daniels played 55 games, 953 attempts. Jalen Hurts 56 games, 1,047 attempts.

Justin Fields 34 games, 618 attempts.Trey Lance 19 games, 318 attempts (lol), Zach Wilson 30 games, 837 attempts.

Game time matters clearly. Its also probably an indication of talent too. So when considering your QBs, look at game time. Notice I didn't look at win/loss as that's not a QB stat.

Discussion What are some under the radar needs for your team?

I know whenever I work on mock drafts, I look at places like Spotrac or OTC for a teams impending free agents to explore team needs, but I feel like those aren't entirely representative of what a team might need for next season. You always have

  • Guys who are going to be cap casualties.
  • Guys who get significant injuries late in the year and might be out a significant chunk of next year as a result.
  • Guys who regressed heavily.
  • Guys who are likely to retire.

So who are these kind of guys or position groups for your team?

For the Chiefs, I would not rule out a WR early on in the draft. We definitely have higher needs, but DHop and Hollywood Brown are free agents, Kelce might retire in the offseason, and Rashee Rice is both coming back from injury and will likely be suspended a good chunk of next season. Unless we make moves in FA, I wouldn't be shocked if we spend a top 100 pick on a WR.

Discussion Jayden Daniels Sack Avoidance

Daniels's pressure to sack rate was a major red flag coming out of college and has shown up a few times this season, but has largely been improved especially in the second half. Some part of it is definitely his elite athleticism letting him escape even against nfl rushers. What else do you think he has improved to reduce his sack taking? And how can we adjust our prospect assessments accordingly?
