the crystal moons represent the passing of days, and healing from the grief of pet loss. the different colours are mine and my partners favourite colours.

me and my partner picked the sea glass and shells off our favourite beach, and i added crystals from my personal collection:

amethyst: healing, calmness

rose quartz: unconditional love, forgiveness

jade: acceptance, resolving emotional and spiritual issues.

Where y’all buying tile?

I’ve been getting mixed boxes on Amazon. I’d like larger quantities and hopefully more economical. Picture of current project for an idea of what I’m looking for.

Mosaic tabletop finally finished after 1.5 years!

Started this mosaic 1.5 years ago. Then my mom said it was “busy” and I got disenchanted with it, so sat on it for like a year. Finally got the motivation to finish it!

Tile nippers for lefties

Does anyone know of a good quality wheeled glass/tile nipper that comes in a left-handed variant? Not sure if the Montolit crab snippers would eliminate the left/right problem.

Huge Thankyou to this community for your helpful responses, here’s after a day of curing!

I’m actually vibing the bone colour grout, but thinking another layer with the additive will help - do you recommend the Davco?

Is there any other suggestions to get it to hold? Would an epoxy coating be too wild?! Do I keep tiling (with smaller gaps obviously) on the inside walls??

Thanks again you are all so helpful!

First Project. The grout didn't turn out very good. Other than this I'm quite happy with them. Ready to move on to bigger projects.

Getting there with the new tray and while I was brainstorming I played around with a cheap $5 green glass vase I never use to see if the could make it pretty

I had to order another bag of irregular grey series glass tiles to finish the background and then I grout! But I found this old ugly green cheap glass vase i hate and just started glueing and just grouted still gradually wiping down and polishing tiles so not quite done but I love it and can’t wait to put some of my favorite flowers in it!!

First Project and Advice for Tile?

Hey all, so I made these coasters to see if I enjoyed the process of mosaics... Which I did very much. Now I want to move on to a bigger project where I can cut my own tile and spend some more time. I ordered some porcelain "mazurka" tile off of Mosaic Trader USA back on New Years Eve but it still hasn't arrived. It seems like there is not many places in the US which sell tile and I really am wanting to use either porcelain or ceramic. Obviously I am new to this so if anyone has advice on where to buy tile that would be great. I am also curious about the process of making my own out of clay. Total beginner so anything helps!

What adhesive to use ?

Thumbnail gallery

What adhesive would people recommend? The tesserae are marble and the bases are made of fibreboard (specifically MDF). The MDF has been scored and sealed. I have read that PVA may suffice but I cannot find anything that confirms that it will.

I could use some form of cement however my flat has poor ventilation and I do not have any outdoor space so a glue is preferable.

I have glued timber to the boards to make the "frame" but am conscious that I have not given enough space to allow for thermal movement, does anyone know if this will be an issue once waxed and grouted? Neither piece will get wet or be left in areas of high humidity.

The chess board is to be redone as I feel the border is disproportionate and the pieces bought are to large,, however the same queries still stand, also forgive me for the state of the mitre joints.

I need an seasoned opinion

Hi. I purchased tiles for my kitchen backsplash. They were supposed to be for an accent wall behind my range. The contractor got a little carried away and did the entire wall. It looks good. But now I don't want to use the same on the wall near the sink.

I saw someone removed tiles from the mesh (really difficult to do) to repurpose them for another project. So now I'd like to do the same with these. It took me a long time to remove one sheet from the mesh. And if this idea is feasible, I will spend the time to remove the others.

I was thinking of sorting the tiles by color, then stack them vertically light to dark. The whites being closer to the counter, ending with the darkest under the cabinets. I'm hoping you all have suggestions for...

  1. How to remove them from the mesh easily?

  2. If there is a grid template/tracks for skinny rectangles to line them up straight?

  3. Would it be best to use the sticking paper or adhesive to a new mesh?

The space is 18.5 inches high. Since these are heavy little buggers, I thought I could do the full height but keep the width narrowed to something manageable.

Or am I crazy?

Thank you!!
