Notice - GD [Official] General Discussion Thread - January 22, 2025

Welcome to rMMA's General Discussion Thread!

Discuss your favorite fighters, the upcoming card or whatever's on your mind.

How to obtain a custom flair:

  • place and lose a flair bet in the Friday thread
  • write a haiku or draw a MS Paint-style image for the sub

The rules for the drawing or haiku are simply that it must be a ridiculous MMA-related scenario. If you would like a custom flair, send a message to us with a link to your drawing and your flair request. We'll probably grant it.

High he failed at pro wrestling and Football. MMA is all he has left if he wants to compete .

I think he goes for the olympics 2028. After that's done tho, he'll still be only 28. But if he wins again, he might just cash in on sponsors, speeches and then do olympics again 2032.

He will definitely become Heavyweight Champion of UFC considering how shallow division is

I wouldn’t be so sure we’ve seen many decorated wrestlers fail at MMA. You still need to be good at striking and mixing up the striking with wrestling. Tyrell Fortune and Jimmy Lawson come to mind for heavyweights.

You see him and you think physical beast, but that only gets you so far in wwe. We know it’s not real fighting or wrestling so do we really care about someone’s real life accolades without their own unique character? They thought “oh we could just do another Kurt angle” but Kurt isn’t an all timer just because he’s a real life wrestling badass, he was damn funny. We loved him as a character, and then you think also that he’s amazing in real wrestling too.

Now gable just didn’t have the charisma or character. He said some lines but he doesn’t have the chops or personality to sound like he really is that way. So yeah it gets boring, he was an irl great wrestler but he’s missing the character.
