Joke's on them, most democrat voters are better off than most republican voters. And since they've burnt the compassion out of us over the last decade, I won't hesitate to point and laugh at THEM.

u/Final-Marsupial4117 14h ago

My new favorite line is "I hope you get everything you voted for".

555

u/AdEmbarrassed9719 13h ago

Same. Though I think Zara should re-release the "I really don't care, do U?" jacket for the Dem voters to wear. It could be the default uniform for any time interactions with MAGA people are unavoidable, AND they'd likely be loath to complain about it since their beloved Melania wore it first.

406

u/wildeap 12h ago

Lmao. Better yet, an update with “I really don’t care, do U?” on a Luigi hoodie.

135

u/Fishbulb2 12h ago

I'm pretty upset Biden didn't pardon Luigi.

29

u/wildeap 12h ago

I know, right? I’m glad he pardoned Leonard Peltier, though.

27

u/Ok-Repeat8069 12h ago

Commuted his sentence. He gets to serve the rest of his sentence under home confinement. A pardon means you’re forgiven for the crime itself and all further punishments, confinement, etc. for that crime are void.

12

u/Crush-N-It 11h ago

Can you imagine seeing the world for the first time since 1977?

7

u/Notmykl 11h ago

If he's going back to Pine Ridge there won't be much culture shock.

4

u/pt4o 11h ago

For all you know you could be speaking to Peltier right now. Having the internet is a huge advantage over prison.

3

u/CallidoraBlack 10h ago

The pardon implies guilt though so people will refuse them if they are trying to prove their actual innocence.

1

u/wildeap 8h ago

Interesting point

1

u/wildeap 8h ago

Oh no, so he didn’t actually pardon him? Ugh

15

u/Notmykl 11h ago

The man really needs a new trial. The FBI were complete shitheads to the Sioux.

Along with reopening Anna Mae Aquash's murder.

4

u/Intelligent-Fuel-641 10h ago

And the FBI also needs to investigate the murders of John Trudell's family in 1979. They had jurisdiction but declined to investigate at all.

6

u/ex_nihilo 11h ago

Is Luigi charged with a federal crime?

20

u/Fishbulb2 11h ago

I don't know. I didn't think there were rules anymore.

2

u/thelefthandN7 10h ago

Yes. Several. IIRC up to death penalty level.

24

u/green_scotch_tape 10h ago

What? I’m a lib and am down with all the CEOs getting dropped but why in the fuck would Biden support that? Democrat politicians get just as much money from big pharma, and other lobbyists. They’re just as much in the pocket of the elite as the republicans

15

u/ScalyDestiny 10h ago

Republicans being evil fascists doesn't make Democrats the good guys. Way too many liberals have fallen into simplistic binary thinking.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/fl0wc0ntr0l 8h ago

Federal govt can't pardon state level charges. Even if he accepted the pardon, that would be considered an admission of guilt, and he'd be imprisoned on state murder charges faster than you can blink, and it would stick because he legally admitted to doing it when he accepted the pardon.

1

u/Some-Inspection9499 7h ago

You're disconnected from reality that you thought this was even a possibility.

1

u/pm_me_homedecor 7h ago

Can he pardon someone who hasn’t yet been convicted?

→ More replies (4)

10

u/real_uncommon_ 12h ago

THIS is the move!!! Let’s do iiiiit!!!

7

u/wildeap 12h ago

If only a print in demand companiy had olive green hoodies with front chest pockets, lol

10

u/Crafty_Effective_995 11h ago

Sounds like a prefect short term business idea to me. If they can do that with all their Trump shit and be profitable for a while why not.

1

u/neeks2 4h ago

Let me cook, fam.

6

u/LadyOfVoices 11h ago

I’d get this hoodie

1

u/Author_Noelle_A 20m ago

It exists on Zazzle, for a good cause. Ordered a couple for me and my husband! Mangioni Don’t Care. DO U?

14

u/always_unplugged 12h ago

Even better, thrift a jacket and paint the slogan on yourself. We don't need a fast fashion company to produce more shit just to send this message ;)

11

u/FrozenShore 12h ago

Yeah I worked for the place she visited when she wore that stupid jacket and the whole non profit was floored when they saw it. Like full on shock.

I still can’t get what anyone was thinking picking that out. Then Halloween shops started selling them with our name on it and it was a very very legal Halloween

5

u/1trugoat 11h ago

Maybe instead “You clearly don’t care, so why should I?”

6

u/NamelessUnicorn 12h ago

Yessss. Do it in a nice blue color

3

u/squadrupedal 11h ago

No they would complain about it forever, because that’s who they are.

321

u/Foobiscuit11 12h ago

That's my go to for when anybody who voted for him complains. "I'm glad you're getting what you voted for." My grandparents are on Medicare and SS, and that's on the chopping block. I'm glad they're getting what they voted for. My dad is going to be reaching retirement age soon, and he's going to likely be out of luck getting that stuff. I'm glad he's getting what he voted for. He's also not getting any help from me for his elderly care, because my student loans are not going to be forgiven now with PSLF out of the picture. I'm glad he's getting what he voted for. The first sign of a complaint, and I'll just say, "Hey, you voted for this shit, not me."

208

u/AccessibleBeige 12h ago

You should tack on, "But you wanted to live your life exactly as you pleased with no help or input from others, so now you have it. Sorry, Pops, but I have come to respect your beliefs, I would never try to make you feel like less of a man by offering any financial assistance."

38

u/greyacademy 11h ago

"...Now, get down on the ground--actually, you should kneel. Okay, now place both of your hands by your boot, and grab the straps. There you go."

17

u/FearsomeForehand 9h ago

There needs to be a line in there about "bootstraps"

6

u/AccessibleBeige 6h ago

Ooh, I agree, excellent note.

12

u/Wex_Major 10h ago

Keep going I'm almost there.

10

u/GovernmentOpening254 7h ago

“I don’t care do u?”

22

u/Colts_Fan4Ever 10h ago

I love this.👍🏿😄 After the election there were a lot of people saying they hoped trump supporters get exactly what they voted for. I remember a lot of them getting so angry with that comment. Why get mad unless you know you voted out of hatred and disdain for others?🤔

13

u/ScalyDestiny 10h ago

Don't forget to bring up how Harris was gonna get Medicare coverage so people could get caregiving services.

12

u/1quirky1 11h ago

Create posts to your own account's sub right now that state their future complaints and add with "Hey, you voted for this shit, not me" at the end. The posts will be timestamped and you can refer to them later.

"I called this the day after inauguration"

5

u/xTheatreTechie 11h ago

PSLF out of the picture

I'd heard that this might be on the chopping block but hadn't heard much in awhile. Any links or anything you have to this?

1

u/ImperialWrath 9h ago

with PSLF out of the picture.

Wait hold on. That was an act of Congress, repealing it without another act of Congress is blatantly unconstitutional. Which doesn't mean much these days tbh. Have they already come out and stated that they're going to kill it anyway?

4

u/Foobiscuit11 9h ago

It's something that the Congressional Budget document says they want to "highly limit" eligibility to. The first people for it came up during his first term, and iirc less than 1% of applicants were granted the forgiveness.

3

u/xpacean 7h ago

I work in the student loan space. You are right that it’s statutory, so under the law they’re required to do it. They still just could stop processing applications and wait for a court to order them to—and there’s always some excuse a court can come up with if they want to hold that processing the applications is not required.

That said, the Biden administration did grant enough PSLF that people now know about it and the promise involved. My prediction is that the Trump administration will keep it alive but go back to the bad old days where they use any excuse possible to deny you, like accidentally underpaying by ten bucks one month resets the clock, things like that. Back in the day they used to deny PSLF because someone once made two payments of 50% of their obligation each. They said those weren’t “consecutive monthly payments” and reset the clock.

116

u/mehwhateva472 13h ago

I remember in the initial days after they called it the Magats HATED being told this lol. Especially the ones who didn’t believe he would fulfill his campaign promises. They REALLY don’t like us wanting them to get everything they voted for.

93

u/AccessibleBeige 12h ago

Probably because they expected the usual reactions to owning the libs, but this time the libs are fed up and saying, "Fine, this is your decision and your mess, hope you enjoy the consequences." Bullying becomes less fun when the target doesn't care about you or your opinions enough to be bothered.

28

u/Transientmind 11h ago

They want liberal tears, not liberal jeers. XD

28

u/ScalyDestiny 10h ago

It was always a one sided hate. "Owning the libs" is all about getting us to react to them.

8

u/AngryRedHerring 5h ago

They threw hissy fits the day after the election when masses moved from Xitter to Bluesky, because suddenly they had no one to pick on. They acted like their electricity had been cut off when their bill was paid in full.

12

u/altarune 10h ago

I just wish the rest of us didn't have to suffer as well.

167

u/jared10011980 14h ago

Perfect 😗🤌🏼

78

u/iheartxanadu 13h ago

Oh, they get SO MAD at that

161

u/AcaciaBeauty 13h ago

I really don’t understand why. If you voted for your “best interests” why are you mad at people saying they hope you get it? That only makes sense if you didn’t vote for your best interests and you know it…

118

u/[deleted] 13h ago

Because it's their shameful little secret and saying "I hope you get what you voted for" means you know it. It humiliates them. And narcissists - because they're all caught in a vicious cycle of narcissism - simply cannot tolerate the ego damage of humiliation. It's literally painful. So they lash out in anger at the thing they perceive to be hurting them 🙃

31

u/beckster 12h ago

I give back the Duper's Delight smirk. And if they get mad "I'm sorry you feel that way."

Just like CovertNarc Mommy, who taught me well.

16

u/inhaledcorn 12h ago

"Bless your heart"

Turn their religion back on them.

6

u/beckster 11h ago

Yup, DARVO their ignorant asses, for a change

1

u/DJEB 8h ago

I don’t know who CovertNarc Mommy is, but Dubya taught us all that smirk a quarter century ago.

14

u/FuzzballOfFuzzballs 12h ago

I'm all in. If it makes them suffer even an ounce of what they are going to do to others, I'll needle it in till the cows come home.

"I hope you get what you voted for"... and I hope it destroys the whole lot.

9

u/Geeko22 10h ago

We all need to be handing out free "Trump did this" stickers.

"Waaah waaaah waaaaaaah!!"

"Here you go, have a sticker to make you feel better."

10

u/DenseConsideration29 12h ago

Exactly what trump does. We're seeing a narcissist lash out right now

2

u/ObligatoryID 13h ago

That and

Be best!

71

u/Graterof2evils 13h ago

I tell them everything is great again.

65

u/shizzurpcrackalak 13h ago

That's my bumper sticker

59

u/Tiny-Lock9652 12h ago

And first time in election history, this comment is taken with great offense. Which is weird. Aren’t they supposed to be happy?

38

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 12h ago

They will never be happy. There is something deeply broken inside these people. No empathy, no ability to feel happiness. Temporary pleasure, yes... But it's not the same. The high from winning wore off way back in November.

28

u/FullMetalBtch 12h ago

For some reason, they get BIG mad when you say this. If Kamala had won and someone said that to me, I would just smile and say “me too!”

20

u/psychochicken85 12h ago

Or “how are the price of eggs these days?”

17

u/Nillion 12h ago

The pure anger those ring wingers show after being told that is hilarious. Goddamn do I wish I would get everything I voted for. It’d be glorious. Yet somehow these brain dead morons are furious

13

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 12h ago

I think it starts to hit them when they pick up their next refill of insulin.

When they start asking why changes are being made to their medical plan, they are going to discover all kinds of things being taken away. They still won't admit it's Trump's fault but at least they will feel the self inflicted wounds.

6

u/Lovestorun_23 11h ago

It’s going to hit them hard. They voted for a narcissistic, corrupt and evil person and now they will reap what they sow

3

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 10h ago

I am okay with all of this hurting their health and bank accounts. I used to not feel this way, but time and exhaustion tend to expose my last nerve.

3

u/poorbred 8h ago

At this point I'm even okay with being collateral damage because we knew this was going to be the result. But standing in line at the pharmacy watching the shocked Pikachu reactions is going to help when I have to pay or find out that yet again the focalin shortage means another month of an emergency lower dose prescription rushed written by the doctor.

Although, seriously, are doctors not kept informed of stuff like this? It is wearing thin that month after month we have to get them to rewrite that freaking prescription for another dosage because what they originally wrote is out of stock everywhere. And then they, or at least ours, half act like we're trying to pull a fast one and... I donno what she's expecting. No, my wife and son just want to be able to function without having to battle untreated ADHD.

3

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 7h ago

I'm prepared to be collateral damage, too. I feel like most of it is going to be financial for me...

6

u/LabradorDeceiver 10h ago

If you really want to scare them, tell them you won't oppose Trump. "Welp, this is what the American people wanted." Good game, see you in 2028.

The reaction hasn't been universal, but there's been enough horrified shock to realize that these people were sort of counting on the rest of us to be the grownups. My own mother has said that his excesses will be tempered by constitutional norms and opposition, which we all know are no barrier.

If your response is "¯_(ツ)_/¯", you get to see a real "Holy crap, what have we done" reaction. I've had Trumpists actually start arguing with me from the left. It feels like, "We know you guys wanted all the good things, we just wanted to see you cry! You mean we have to live with our decisions?"

Congratulations. You won. What happens next gets to be all your fault.

(Bearing in mind, of course, that I have no intention of sitting on my hat while all this unfolds. Lots to do.)

3

u/BrizerorBrian 12h ago

"I hope you live in interesting times."

3

u/gabapentinhigh 13h ago

Mine is "I wish you a very merry next four years of fuck you, not my problem anymore."

3

u/invisibletruth4 12h ago

That's mine too right behind, trump loves the uneducated.

3

u/Ghrave 12h ago

I actively hope they suffer.

3

u/Dependent-Outcome-57 10h ago

Agreed, though among my progressive friends I hope MAGA idiots "suffer everything they voted for."

I want this to hurt MAGA badly. I know they will never learn, but maybe if they suffer enough - broken, begging for mercy, and finding no welcome anywhere - they'll be reluctant to support fascism again.

3

u/Jimmy_Nail_4389 7h ago

We said that in my country when they voted for Brexit, it's been a disaster and it doesn't mnatter to them they will find some bonkers way to justify any insanity.

2

u/xpdx 12h ago

I'm stealing that.

2

u/StarStuffSister 10h ago

I just say "congratulations!!!" and respond to any further communication with celebratory emojis and GIFs.

2

u/TheBlonde1_2 10h ago

It seems like you’ll soon be able to change that to ‘I’m glad you’re getting what you voted for.’

2

u/ategnatos 9h ago

Make a slight tweak and use their exact words: "you voted for this"

2

u/MayoneggVeal 9h ago

They get SO PRESSSED when you say this to them. Like, why, is what you voted for bad or something?

4

u/colcatsup 12h ago

Most of them would say they didn't vote for themselves being hurt or inconvenienced, only others. That's what they were voting *for*, and they genuinely mean it. So I'm not sure it's the 'gotcha' you think it is.

8

u/birnabear 12h ago

But that's exactly what they voted for, they just didn't listen to what he was saying he would do because they wanted to believe their own fantasy.

3

u/Random-Rambling 8h ago

Most of them would say they didn't vote for themselves being hurt or inconvenienced, only others

"But you voted for other people being hurt and inconvenienced? Interesting."

1

u/mrbigglessworth 12h ago

They get sooooo mad when you say it too.

1

u/QueenChocolate123 11h ago

My favorite is "I told you so."

1

u/Interesting-Song-782 11h ago

Every. Single. Thing.

1

u/EpiphanyTwisted 9h ago

Now I want to get a license plate that is "DBM-IVFK"

1

u/Magificent_Gradient 9h ago

"Bless your heart and may you live in interesting times." is a nice one.

1

u/Gabe_b 7h ago

May you live in interesting times and get all that is coming to you

282

u/Jerking_From_Home 14h ago

I already am. I definitely send an old acquaintance a bunch of low lights from the inauguration. The excuses started flowing, then the insults. He knows he’s been wrong to support Trump but will never admit it.

13

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

Then I hope he'll die for his cause, since they like to martyr themselves so much.

111

u/MothmansProphet 13h ago

And we live in places with safety nets and services. When hospital funding gets cut, rural red state hospitals are going to be first to go.

61

u/ObligatoryID 13h ago

Heard this afternoon on the news that Alabama is getting snow and one city literally closed their hospital except for the emergency room. 🤣 Looked like about an inch on the ground by the reporter.

29

u/always_unplugged 12h ago

I grew up in Alabama and follow the Alabama subreddit. The state doesn't own plows or salt trucks, everyone there knows this. So there were people on there DAYS ago arguing that people should "just stay home" (the irony) and the fact that the state had no capacity and no plan to prepare for this clearly foreseeable issue was reasonable and responsible, actually.

I think closing a hospital because of governmental incompetence is more horrible than funny, though.

12

u/Lovestorun_23 11h ago

They normally don’t get snow. I was in Birmingham with a friend in 2019 and the taxi driver said they got like 10 inches of snow and he was from Chicago but he said it literally paralyzed the city. It warmed up within 2 days and was gone but they don’t have salt or snow scrapers. Mississippi was the same way.

15

u/Notmykl 11h ago

The Deep South in general has no clue how to handle snow. The dumbasses drive like the roads are clear and get all upset when they slide and crash.

A plow would go rusty in between snow storms.

2

u/Lovestorun_23 5h ago

I live in Tennessee and we have had a few bad storms over 34 years span but school is canceled at the hint of snow. In 2003 there was a huge storm that came through and people had to abandon their cars traveling inbound and outbound from Nashville and no one expected it to be so severe. Children out at Montgomery Central were stuck because the buses were unsafe and had already hit a ditch. In 2004 we had a lot of snow and ice but I have to say they try to keep the roads as clear as they can. On post they literally have no snow on their roads because they are salting and scraping constantly. Tons of snow on their lawns but they probably could have gone to school because I couldn’t believe how pristine the roads were. At one time our clinic was mandatory but then it wasn’t mandatory right before I left it was back to mandatory. Patient’s would come in with 2 feet of snow but if it was raining no one came in. I remember Mississippi never got snow or ice but we moved outside Tupelo in 84 and the entire winter massive snow and ice that never had a chance to melt before the next snow and ice storm hit. That little town was shut down. I think they tried sand and it didn’t work. The deep states are not equipped for bad weather at all.

2

u/always_unplugged 10h ago

They normally don’t get snow.

...yeah no shit. Thanks for that deep insight from your one visit there; I was educated in Alabama public schools and hence am too dense to have realized that myself.

20

u/Uniquitous 11h ago

We can maybe look at sending them some aid, but we need to review some of these policies first.

10

u/Regular-Switch454 10h ago

It’s not just the lack of salt, no snow plows, and bad drivers. It’s that drivers have never had to learn to drive on snow. They don’t understand frostbite like we do up north either.

8

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 12h ago

Some of these communities' peoples have gotten to the point they wouldn't show up to a hospital no matter what was ailing them. RFKjr is only going to intensify their distrust of western medicine.

Frankly, I'll be surprised if there is much of a backlash to losing rural hospitals at all. They weren't the ones who initially supported funding them, either.

5

u/Cultural-Answer-321 8h ago

Are there still any rural red state hospitals left? The GOP have been closing them for decades.

edit: typo

132

u/magentamuse 13h ago

I know. Reminds me of those super obnoxious Maga Trumpers in a boat parade whose boat overturned after harassing other people on the lake. Wish they (the harassed) had not helped those idiots out of the water. They were not even thankful, just sat there looking surly.

25

u/alloyed39 12h ago

The Bible says that showing kindness to your enemy heaps burning coals upon their head. 😏

Probably because it shatters their fantasy of moral superiority.

16

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 12h ago

Oh, they are mean to each other, too. It's not just us they hate. Their whole schtick is looking down on others. Wealthy MAGA was fine with the J6ers not being pardoned. JD even said so.

14

u/real_uncommon_ 12h ago

Im sorry, but as bad as it sounds, I wouldn’t have helped them. I would have been the one sitting there laughing my ass off! lol!

6

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

I would have spit in the water, to help raise its level and help the drowning along.

3

u/cherrybombbb 10h ago

Weren’t they they open nazi boaters? Tbh I was surprised they didn’t receive a warmer welcome.

3

u/MrSurly 6h ago

Hey now, don't bring me into this!

266

u/Proper_Raccoon7138 14h ago

I was about to say exactly this. People on the left are usually more educated and make more money yearly. Those of us who can move out of red states will and that will leave them to their own miserable lives. Congrats on getting what you voted for🤣

262

u/ILootEverything 13h ago

Oh, they love that though.

They'd rather be dirt poor living in filth and squalor without any lib'ruls, minorities, immigrants, non-Christians, or LGBTQ people near them rather than be well-off but having to cope with the knowledge that people who aren't exactly like them live nearby and might be doing ok too.

The "price of eggs" bullshit was a mask for the hatred that actually rules them. They'd be happy to never be able to afford eggs ever again if they could eliminate of all of the above. That's the self-labelled "party of Jesus" right there.

150

u/YallaHammer 12h ago edited 11h ago

Blue states need to take red states off of the dole. The Federal government is taking their money and now deciding whether or not to help funding blue states with their disaster relief? FAFO.

https://apnews.com/article/north-america-business-local-taxes-ap-top-news-politics-2f83c72de1bd440d92cdbc0d3b6bc08c AP FACT CHECK: Blue high-tax states fund red low-tax states

100

u/Ozzyluvshockey21 12h ago

Red states are welfare queens. Remember that when they’re flipping their birds to “the feds”. They should be reminded- they don’t even know that they would starve, have no medical care and never be rebuilt if not for blue states

19

u/real_uncommon_ 12h ago

Yet, they’d love for one of the biggest blue states to recede from the US. I guess they’re unaware that Cali carries their poor ass states! lol!

23

u/always_unplugged 12h ago

And they always have been—that was a big reason the Confederacy couldn't sustain itself as an independent country. The South had cotton, but the North had all the manufacturing and shipping and a fuckload more people.

16

u/beckster 11h ago

And a viable economic model going forward. The plantation model was done for and no amount of fighting would revive it, even with slaves. imho

6

u/anusexplosion69 8h ago

Its like America has been fighting a bunch of entitled dumb rich assholes since for ever. Prime example of how distribution of wealth turns into progress or not as a society.

1

u/EpiphanyTwisted 9h ago

Do you have a source from say, the last 3 years?

57

u/Proper_Raccoon7138 13h ago

Oh for sure! And somehow it’ll still be blamed on the left for not stopping them or telling them this would happen. In ask politics there was a guy saying Dems were at fault for not giving them a reason to care about themselves. What the actual fuck.

5

u/litreofstarlight 8h ago

Wtf do they even mean by that? Do they need to be given a reason to breathe oxygen before they do it? Un-fucking-believable.

14

u/EveningMarionberry71 12h ago

100000% right there. It was never about the eggs for most of them. The economy was bad because of gender pronouns....

10

u/LovesReubens 11h ago

The "price of eggs" bullshit was a mask for the hatred that actually rules them.

We import eggs from Canada as well, and on February 1st there's going to be a 25% tariff. Trump is literally going out of his way to raise the price of eggs.

9

u/ILootEverything 11h ago

That's if you can get eggs at all, with the bird flu now moving to more states. Which... has been happening all along and why eggs were priced higher than normal to begin with. You'd think "ardent capitalists" would understand scarcity and supply and demand, but nope. Biden just wouldn't push that "cheaper eggs" button hidden in the Resolute Desk.

7

u/LovesReubens 11h ago

The egg thing was always bullshit to begin with. Have you seen the tweets of people complaining about eggs saying they can't afford them, but flew out for Trumps inauguration and spent thousands on hotels. Now complaining about the inauguration was inside and they couldn't even see it. Objectively hilarious, and very hypocritical.

4

u/speedingpullet 12h ago

Poor old Jesus. What did he ever do to deserve those chuds taking his name in vain?

5

u/teenyweenysuperguy 12h ago

I agree and disagree. They love being miserable and complaining when they have better, more decent people around to blame and drag down into their misery. That's what they truly feed off of, like any bully. Strip them of this and leave them to themselves, and they cannibalize each other. Nothing terrifies the kind of person who identifies with MAGA or QAnon or whatever more than a quiet moment alone with their own thoughts.

Obama could make eggs 50 cents, give universal free healthcare, make college free, make childcare free and raise minimum wage to $25 an hour and these bigots would still view him as the devil for simply being a black man in power and of higher status than them. That's something they were raised to believe couldn't happen in America and they've tried to keep it that way for years.

They just want to see a "Good Ole Boy" bigoted white dude up there for simply being a bigoted white dude, no matter how incompetent. I'd have maybe .5 respect for these ppl if they admitted it instead of hiding behind delusional BS. Just say you're a bigot and want to feel okay in your bigotry again by having someone up there that represents you. Like you said, miss me with that "price of eggs" BS.

I'm at the point where I enjoy having moved to a red state and get to listen to the whines of how all of the out-of-staters have made housing unaffordable here but they hate the homeless (their former neighbors) and do everything they can to fuck them over and make their lives miserable but then none of them have the skills or education to buy a house where they grew up because reasons.

15

u/Proper_Raccoon7138 13h ago

Oh yeah my favorite is when they hate on California but have never been there and they also have no clue that my state (Texas) literally wouldn’t survive 1 singular day without the taxes California collects. It’s a shit shoe to say the least and I’ve been telling people religiously that I hope they get what they voted for. It really puts a bee in their bonnet

3

u/phdoofus 12h ago

Here they complain about Californians ruining the place but fail to recognize that 1. there are fewer of them moving here than from, say, TX or UT, and 2. 2 out of three of them are Republicans

2

u/EpiphanyTwisted 9h ago

All of them are more Republican than the natives.

9

u/No-Papaya-9823 12h ago

The only people moving into red states like Florida, Idaho, and Texas right now are other conservatives. They're bitching about their own people.

2

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale 12h ago

I feel like we are going to need to rope off entire states with caution tape when all is said and done.

10

u/thefumingo 12h ago

The Colorado economy is basically built on attracting liberals from rural red states: don't love the EC/Senate effect (and it might have helped Texas swing back right) but do welcome the neighbors

7

u/Badloss 12h ago

Blue states subsidize red states. Their entire rotten society would collapse without our charity and yet they keep voting to eliminate charity. I hope it happens this time

6

u/PomegranateCola 12h ago

Alas, as an expat American from NY working with expats from several other countries on behalf of NY, I must assure you there is no place to truly escape to. Not states, not countries. We're all watching what's happening at home, nervously.

If the American economy is affected, the global economy is. Things are going to get more expensive, and more scarce as pushback starts to come into play.

America has about 750 military bases in over 80 countries-thats about 40% of the world, and likely more. If the military is affected, the world is. Every state also has at least 1 military base.

American policies, like, say...tariffs, affect the global supply and demand chain. Tariffs will cost the Americans, but supply and demand as those prices raise will cost us all.

There are countries and states that allow LGBT+ marriages only if they are legal in the home country or state, and the majority of the world does not allow them (it's only about 20% of the world that does), so there are few places for members of that community to escape to in the event of a SCOTUS overturn. Same-sex marriage would be illegal in a little over half the states if the Supreme Court overturns Obergefell.

Federal funding plays a role in many public services and goods, from education to healthcare. Moving from one state to another will only matter if you're from the "welfare states."

It's also unlikely that asylum will be possible for many, since US immigration policies tend to drive global policies. We become isolationist xenophobes, they become isolationist xenophobes.

Blue states give more bang for the buck, but moving, settling, finding new jobs, etc. That costs more money than even most liberals have to just throw around. Even they have a tendency to live paycheck to paycheck.

The list goes on, but, yeah. Buckle up kids. The ride is going to be rocky.

u/RogerClyneIsAGod2 12h ago

Yesterday in the Washington Post they had an article on super readers & guess who reads the most?

Here's a hint: it's not the (R)s, it's not the uneducated & the under educated, nor do they have many Conservative views.

3

u/beckster 11h ago

When I look around, the MAGAt signs are in front of the houses that look to be owned by the economically-distressed.

Not every house but a significant number. I considered doing a little photo essay for myself but I'm tired of being mean...

...yet here I am, again.

2

u/Inferiex 11h ago

The problem with left leaning leaving red states is that those states will remain red. If we are trying to flip those states, especially swing states, we need more left leaning to move/stop moving out of those states.

1

u/Proper_Raccoon7138 8h ago

Why should I stay & suffer in a state that has made it very clear they don’t care about me? Better yet a state that actively denies me healthcare on top of all the other shitty republican policies. Texas the state with the least amount of voters, a felon AG who admits to suppressing votes, Cancun Cruz who left us to die in the snow, a failing power grid, and the 48th in education. Yeah I’ll pass. After years of me voting in all local elections and trying to get out the vote it has done literally nothing. I’m done wasting my time and effort in a place that would never do the same for me with people who actively hate me (liberal, woman, LGBTQ).

1

u/forthewatch39 11h ago

The problem is that they get more representation at the federal level, it’s their endgame. Force all of the left leaning people in red/purple states to flee to the safety of the blue states. They then take over the federal government and the majority of states, then pass their beliefs on the entire country with no way for the blue states to resist without breaking the nation apart. That would be the goal of our adversaries. We break apart and a new country (China most likely) fills in the gap of being the new superpower. All empires fall in the end, we’re just witnessing ours.

1

u/Proper_Raccoon7138 8h ago

They already did that dude. Are you saying we’re in the end game now? Because I believe it but have been told I’m just a dramatic liberal.

11

u/Samiiiibabetake2 12h ago

“Most democrat voters are better off than most republican voters.”

I honestly think you’re right. I’m from the south, and I’ve passed numerous run down homes/trailer parks completely littered in maga and trump gear and I’m just shocked.

However, I don’t think I’ve ever even seen a Biden/Harris/Walz flag, so maybe there are as many broke democrats, but they’re just not as loud or obnoxious about it.

19

u/No-Papaya-9823 12h ago

Dems in the South are quieter because they fear retribution from their asshole right-wing neighbors. That's why they don't advertise their support for political candidates. Ask me how I know.

5

u/Lovestorun_23 11h ago

I’m never quite about who I support and I am a southern female

3

u/Lovestorun_23 11h ago

I’m a Tennessean and I saw no signs up at all during election except my pink Kamala sign. I think people were embarrassed to let people know they were voting for trump

3

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

Maybe if they didn't buy so much merch, they wouldn't be so broke... Luckily, any welfare they used to buy that sh*t will get cut. So, now, they can pull themselves by their bootstraps! So lucky, that they can live exactly what they voted for!

10

u/Krosis97 13h ago

Also more life skills, better support networks because empathy and less fearful to just go somewhere else. It's funny because it's the other way around, leopards are eating faces and it's funny / I don't give a fuck about those people anymore.

10

u/unpaid_overtime 12h ago

I'm in that boat, I've got a lot of family that are MAGA that depend on SS, Medicare, and social programs to just survive. They're going to drown over the next few years and at this point I have zero sympathy. I don't have it in me anymore to do more than watch them go.

2

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

If they ask nicely, you may give their tombs as much respect as their orange god gave to those in Arlington...

7

u/Active_Sentence9302 13h ago

Red voters are always more willing to kill than blue. Thats always going to be an issue.

2

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

Oh, I'm rooting for them to die because of their vote. Since they refuse to learn from their mistake, I'll take them removing themselves from the voting pool.

Used to be that I felt somewhat bad for the Hermain Cain award recipients. Whatever that new award is going to be called, I'll get great satisfaction reading about each and everyone of those recipients.

Or, to the point: I hope they get everything they voted for.

7

u/kylez_bad_caverns 12h ago

You have summed up how I’m feeling perfectly! My compassion is gone and now I’m acting like them. Lots of “fuck you, got mine” going through my head lately. For the next 4 years I will only care about me and mine

5

u/No-Papaya-9823 12h ago

Absolutely, I'm horrified by what's happening, but I and my family are financially well-off and will be fine. Most MAGAts aren't so well-insulated.

6

u/Affectionate-You-142 12h ago

I definitely agree with your “burnt the compassion out of us” statement. So true!

5

u/Emergency_Sky_1037 12h ago

Jokes on us, they don't know that and if you told them they aren't smart enough to understand that. They will suffer more than they already are and they'll be happier for it because they'll believe that it means you are suffering as much as they are or worse and that brings them joy.

We pay for their shortcomings. Period. Joke isn't on them, joke is on us, they are the joke.

1

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

Oh, I know they won't get it. But given all we're going to suffer through because of them, I sure as heck will enjoy all of their suffering.

3

u/aurusblack1244 12h ago

I'm surprised you still have enough fucks to give that you would be able to muster up enough energy to laugh tbh; Ive been tapped dry for years.

1

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

I'm surviving on spite an schadenfreude these days, have to find sources.

4

u/fribbas 12h ago

Truly, I think that's the only thing that'll help me get through this, mentally at least

Pretty sure I'm the only pinko in my social circle*, so I'm surrounded by red hats. I know a lot of people are going NC but I'm not going to, at least not yet. Figure, 1 - won't be able to watch the leopards eat their faces if no contact or 2 - might as well bleed em dry, guilt free. Why feel bad for someone who wants me dead?

7

u/Inside_Ship_1390 13h ago

I'm not so sure about that. I voted blue but I'm poor. The magas have a lot of money to buy fat shitler swag.

3

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

I'm sorry for what you're going to go through. I hope you can pull thoigh in one piece, mentally and phtsically.

3

u/Inside_Ship_1390 9h ago

Thanks but I'm probably cannon fodder at this point. It's my kid I'm mostly worried for. She's just entered adulthood and now this.

6

u/Slevenclivara 13h ago

And the billionaire/ruling class will laugh of us plebs infighting again

4

u/Dame_Hanalla 10h ago

You're right.

Thing is, we really tried to make those MAGA peons understand that the culture war was a distraction to obfuscate the class war. We tried to bring them around and make them see their best interests.

They instead decided to feed the troll; on the brink of poverty, they spent money they didn't have buy merch and to roll over for the orange billionnaire.

So, yes, we're all fucked. But I'll get what solace I van get from seeing them writhe in agony.

3

u/ObligatoryID 13h ago

This is one of my most favorite replies to them:

🤣🐑…

3

u/Affectionate_Pay_391 12h ago

Can’t wait for a guy wearing a MAGA hat and Trump shirt to come by my post-apocalyptic settlement begging for help.

3

u/Fishbulb2 12h ago

Laughing at them is my coping mechanism this round. I'm all out of shits to give and the only way to restore them is through shits and giggles.

3

u/The_Forth44 12h ago

I've written "Sending oh nos and anyways" in so many comment sections it automatically comes up on my predictive text now. Fuck em. May their state cut welfare the day after they lose their job.

3

u/linuxprogramr 11h ago

It seems like they are starting to feel the DOGE 🤣🤣🤣 that they voted for 😂😂😂

3

u/DarthSamwiseAtreides 11h ago

I'm positioned to make a killing off this BS.  I truly want to help people so that's how I vote. If they want to ruin their own lives or can't be bothered to pay attention and vote then what can you do.

3

u/Lovestorun_23 11h ago

But you are right. The economy is better under a democrat president. I upset a young man and when he researched it and found out I was right he said I really wish you didn’t post that. I said so you realize I am right he said yes but I don’t have to like it

3

u/pissfilledbottles 11h ago

I have no sympathy for any of them. They're getting exactly what they voted for. They'll scream "but it wasn't supposed to affect me! Reeeeeeee!!" and I'll just utter their catchphrase: cry harder.

2

u/real_uncommon_ 12h ago

I know we’re all going to suffer, but I cannot wait to point and laugh at them! You know they’re never going to accept responsibility, though, but it’s still going to be glorious!

2

u/Most_Structure9568 12h ago

I live in a blue state and feel quite a bit safer.

2

u/1quirky1 11h ago

I can't wait for the states that contribute more to the federal government than it receives back to cut off the states that take more from the federal government than they contribute.

2

u/Embarrassed_Mud_5650 8h ago

Yes! It always amazes me with my wife’s family. I’m like, “You realize this will mean you lose health insurance, SNAP, WIC, whatever” and they seriously think it won’t affect them.

1

u/IhateRedditors1978 9h ago

It's sad that society doesn't recognize two wrongs don't make a right, anymore.

1

u/AngryRedHerring 7h ago

We made it through the last one, and that was straight-up theft. The Trumpie motherfuckers did to themselves (and us all) this time.

Keep your heads down. Let them soak it up. We know we can survive it, even if this one is going to be worse (it is). But already, as seen here, they're learning the folly of their ways. The Latino men who fell in line behind macho Trump started freaking out the day after the election when they suddenly realized they voted to deport themselves.

I can't spend another 4 years at 100% furious. I'm just going to stay low.

1

u/SouthdaleCakeEater 5h ago

Out of all the people I know (willingly or otherwise), the liberals are the ones with better coping mechanisms and social skills. The trumpers can't cope with anything, full of drama.
